We have had the great good fortune of having her perform duties as Yobo News Editor from January – May 2012, while fulfilling a college internship and subsequently as a paid part-time employee carrying on the same duties. From the moment she arrived she proved to be a tremendous asset being imminently capable of learning on the job, performing at a high level in all her duties, and always bringing with her a positive demeanor to the work place. She was expected to not only research story content from around the world, but also to post that same news within the web platform while monitoring that space. She has also been responsible for interviewing prospective individuals in different organizations to accomplish her own articles posted in the news space. She has proven to be a strong writer bringing both an interesting and engaged perspective to her content with a solid grasp of punctuation and structure. Mercedes is very capable of learning different web based tools and her understanding of technology has helped her perform her job well. She isn’t afraid to acknowledge what she doesn’t know and is a quick learner when new information is necessary to accomplish her job function. I can’t recommend Mercedes enough no matter what the position because her no nonsense work ethic will carry her forward.
