This document provides information about student grades on an international relations exam, outlines upcoming revision sessions and changes to lessons, and previews topics to be covered in British history lessons, including post-WWII immigration to Britain. It shares exam results, noting some students achieved or exceeded expectations while others need improvement. It announces mandatory after-school revision sessions and changes like silent individual exam practice and making up missed work. Upcoming British history lessons will recap last term and cover reasons for and treatment of different immigrant groups, emerging immigrant communities, and analyzing sources about immigration experiences.

1.Mr. Smith asked his students to write an equation for the graph shown.
Luke wrote the equation y= ( x-5 ) ( x+1) y=(x−5)(x+1). Which set of scaffolding questions would be the most appropriate for Mr. Smith to ask Luke to help Luke realize his mistake?
A. If you convert your equation to the expanded form of a quadratic, what is the coefficient of x^{2}x2? Where is this value located on the graph?
B. What is the y-intercept of the graph? Where is this value located in your equation?
C. If you evaluate your equation at x=1 what is the value of y? Does this match the y-value at x=1 on the graph?

In February, the next holidays may seem quite distant but thinking about where we are going to travel next can be an great way to feel a bit more optimistic. This month we have created an activity for our A1 Movers and A2 Flyers students where they will learn some useful vocabulary about cities while they practise their writing skills. The A2 Key and B1 Preliminary learners can improve their reading and writing skills with signs and notices that they may find when travelling in an English-speaking country. We have also created an activity to practise all skills and modes of communication while learners discover some interesting information about Cambridge. Finally, our B2 First and C1 Advanced students can start dreaming about their ideal holidays while they practise all skills. Happy February!
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

14/26 have achieved what the
Academy expect of you and 12/26
However, I don’t care about what the

than groups
O Every week we will have an exam
practice section which will be done in
silence (this will only be 1 or 2 questions)
O If you do not complete the work I set you
will stay on Friday afternoon until It is
finished
O We will have 2 mock exams this term and
if you don’t pass you will retake after
school
