RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
TERACLOUD PROJECT | Independent research project
supervised by Dr. Kartik Gopalan, SUNY Binghamton
May 2012 – Present
• Kernel space implementation of cluster-wide low latency key-value store.
• Provides memory infrastructure for various data intensive applications.
SCATTER-GATHER LIVE VM MIGRATION | Group project
supervised by Dr. Kartik Gopalan, SUNY Binghamton
Oct 2013 – Jan 2014
• Live Virtual Machine migration mechanism aiming at fast source
deprovisioning.
• Introduces the eviction time metric to measure the time taken to completely
eliminate the state of a VM being migrated from the source host.
ENERGY-EFFICIENT SYNCHRONIZATION | Seminar Project
supervised by Dr. Yu David Liu, SUNY Binghamton
Feb 2013 – May 2013
• Implements and evaluates five Enery-Efficient synchronization program
patterns for heavily multi-threaded applications.
• Achieves 20% power saving on average, with additional 19% boosting in
performance on x86_64 platform.
PEAR GRADING SYSTEM | Group Project & Team Leader
supervised by Dr. Yanzhao Li, Qingdao Agricultural University
Feb 2010 – Nov 2011
• Led the development of the software of an automatic farm project grading
system.
• Achieved automatic grading for various types of pears.
