Dolphins to the Rescue In 2002, dolphins saved a fisherman, Grant Dickson, from a group of hungry sharks when Dickson’s fishing boat sank in a storm off the coast of Australia. Thirty-six-year-old Dickson told the newspapers about his terrible experience. There were two other fishermen on the boat with Dickson but they died at sea. Dickson swam to a small boat after his boat sank. The small boat was turned over, but Dickson held on to it. It wasn’t easy because Dickson was hurt and bleeding badly. Suddenly, sharks came and swam around him. One shark moved closer and closer to him. He was terribly frightened. Luckily, right then, some dolphins appeared and swam around Dickson. Hunting and global warming is partly responsible for this, but the main reason is pollution. The wind blows plastic bags, plastic bottles and balloons into the sea.
