1. Writing A Narrative Essay Outline
Crafting an essay on the intricacies of creating a narrative essay outline may seem deceptively
straightforward at first glance, but delving into the process reveals a complexity that challenges
even seasoned writers. The task involves not just conveying a compelling story but also
dissecting the structural nuances that underpin a well-organized narrative.
Firstly, one must grapple with the dual responsibility of being both storyteller and architect.
Balancing the art of captivating the reader with a riveting narrative while simultaneously
establishing a coherent framework demands a delicate touch. The challenge lies in orchestrating
a seamless flow of events while adhering to the logical progression essential for a well-structured
essay.
The intricacies of selecting key plot points and deciding their chronological order add another
layer of difficulty. This necessitates a keen understanding of pacing and emphasis, ensuring that
each element contributes meaningfully to the overarching narrative without overwhelming the
reader.
Furthermore, the essay's success hinges on the writer's ability to weave a compelling thread
through the introduction, body, and conclusion. The narrative essay outline must guide the
audience through a captivating journey while maintaining clarity and purpose.
Navigating the terrain of character development presents yet another hurdle. Striking a balance
between providing sufficient detail to evoke empathy and avoiding unnecessary exposition
challenges the writer's ability to discern what information serves the narrative's core.
In conclusion, the task of elucidating the intricacies of crafting a narrative essay outline is no
small feat. It involves mastering the dual roles of storyteller and architect, negotiating the
complexities of chronological sequencing, and skillfully developing characters. Only through a
meticulous blend of creativity and structural acumen can one hope to produce a narrative essay
that resonates with readers.

2. The Beginning Of The Xx
Introduction
The beginning of the XX century was marked by the struggle of Iran to maintain the
national independence in the face of Russian and British economic and colonial
pressure and to save the Persian culture. These attempts to preserve and resurrect
national consciousness were skilfully used by the revolutionary politicians in their
struggle for power and the majority approval. The Western idea of nationhood and
the sense of belonging to a greater nation with similar linguistic and racial
characteristics were developed in post Napoleonic Europe and became crucial in the
unification of countries such as Italy and Germany whereas in Iran this process have
partially resulted from the reaction to the foreign influences. Likewise in ... Show

The character of this topic dictates to use historical comparative analysis of
nationalism theory in Iran at different points during the modernization reforms in the
first half of XX century under Reza Shah Pahlavi. To address this aim, the first
section will look at the historical preconditions of nationalism in Iran during the late
Qajar dynastic rule and early years of Pahlavi s rule. Then it will focus on the political
roots of nationalism in Iran during the modernization by Reza Shah Pahlavi. The role
of education and propaganda as the main tools of the nationalism spread and
development will be discussed in the second section. The final section of this paper
will defend the thesis that nationalism was predominantly implanted idea from above
by demonstrating the inconsistencies between the modernizing nationalist doctrine
and the Islamic nature and philosophy of Iranian population. This paper will conclude
that the nationalism as a state ideology was imposed in Iran by the constitutional
monarchy of Reza Shah Pahlavi and it used language, history and ethnicity in order to
maintain the public support.
Section 1 Iranian politics and nationalism
The first quarter of the XX century represents the new period for Iranian politics. Fred
Halliday s definition of nationalism as political movements arising at particular times
with specific leaderships is more likely to distinctly show the situation within the
state. The Constitutional revolution and later

In one group level study, Bommer, Miles, and Grover (2003) found a strong
relationship between individual employees OCBs and the aggregated OCBs of their
respective work groups, suggesting that individual employees will tend to exhibit
similar levels of OCB to the other members of the workgroup.
Recent research has shed some light on the importance of employees positive
interpersonal behaviors in determining team and organizational effectiveness (see De
Dreu, Harinck, Van
Vianen, 1999). According to the conflict management literature, for instance, there
are many different ways in which business unit members deal with conflicts within
the unit (De Dreu et al., 2001), and these different conflict management tactics
might be differentially associated with organizational effectiveness. Tjosvold, Hui,
Ding, and Hu (2003) indeed found that employees positive attitudes toward, and open
approach to, conflict were positively associated with organizational effectiveness.

5. History Of Sam Phillips
Sam Phillips founded Memphis Recording Services in the early 1950s to record
any and every artist interested in performing at his studio, he had no particular
limits on who the artists were expected to be or what they were supposed to be
singing as long as they made him money. The early years would be spent primarily
recording bluesartists such as B. B. King, Rufus Thomas, Rosco Gordon, Joe Hill
Louis, and Howlin Wolf. Sam Phillips vision was to bring artists as well as genres
together and work alongside them with the objective to create an entirely new style
of music. The studio s name was later changed to Sun Studios, a name that would
end up leaving a legacy that introduced the world to some of the founding fathers and
mothers of rock and roll. Of the countless artists recorded... Show more content on

His philosophy was similar to that of Sam Phillips in that he was willing to accept
artists from anywhere on his way to the top, if he could profit from an artist, a deal
could be made. He differed from Sun Studios with his approach to as well as
appreciation for artists though as he was careless and burned relationships with
supremely talented artists. He grew up in the Bronx playing guitar and piano and
composed music while still in his teenage years, all of which proved to be
important tools in his producing studio. He reportedly had the extraordinary ability
to organize music with artists to perfection in addition to a recording technique that
some referred to as the Wall of Sound. Basically, the wall of sound was a unique
style resembling a raucous roar which was created by many instruments being played
as loudly as possible, mixed with an echoing effect. Phil Spector s success is
evidenced by the many top hits he orchestrated though his studio by artists such as the
Crystals, Ronettes, Righteous Brothers, and Ike and Tina
6. Zora Neale Hurston Analysis
Zora Neale Hurston grew up in Eatonville, Florida. Eatonville was the first
incorporated black town in the United States (Eatonville). Founded in 1886, it is
just one of over 100 such towns founded just before the 1900 s (Eatonville).
Growing up in exclusively a colored town (Hurston), Hurston had no awareness of
her coloredness. White people were merely the people who passed through the town.
Hurston stated that they differed from colored to me only in that they rode through
town and never lived there (Hurston). Young Zora was intrigued with the travelers
and they enjoyed hearing her speak pieces. The colored townsfolk deplored her
joyful tendencies. This line painted a somber picture of the towns people, still under

7. Bull Frog Research Paper
During my summer on August 23, 2015, my brother and I went to Kensington
metro park to see if we could catch a frog. At the park we found a pond full of frogs
and we finally caught a frog called The Bull frog, it had green and brown spots and
a bright green upper lip and a creamy yellowish belly, it was three to eight inches
long. Bull frogs is mostly found statewide, but numbers have been reduced locally
due to overharvesting for froglegs. Now rare over much of state. The Bullfrogcould
be as the size of a toad, but there is a big difference. Frogs have two bulging eyes
strong, long, webbed hind feet that are adapted for leaping and swimming, it has
smooth or slimy skin, frogs tend to lay eggs in clusters. Unlike Toads, Toads have

There are only two native toads in Michigan, which are The Eastern American
Toad and The Fowler s Toad, they are mostly the same ,but different in shape and
color. The Eastern toad is mostly brownish skin is very warty. Short, but large and
muscular hind legs allow it to move more easily through woodlands and backyards.
Throat and belly white speckled with black. Found common statewide. The Eastern
American Toad is similar to The American Toad, but throat and belly is usually plain
colored and has more warts, three or more in each dark spot on the back. Two to
thirtytwo inches long. Found in western and southern Lower Peninsula. Many of
toads and frogs population has dropped over time and the reason behind this is the
Amphibian Decline. Many species have lost most of their population for many
reasons like climate change, small changes in temperature and moisture, changes in
global weather pattern and many trees getting cut down. People could change that in
many ways, by keeping the place clean, keeping factories away from nature, less
cutting trees and treating nature in a better way possible.
8. Hypothermia Treatment Of Cardiac Arrest
Hypothermia for Cardiac Arrest
Introduction
Survivors of cardiac arrest often suffer from neurological damage when oxygen to
the brain is depleted. This ischemia to the brain can cause lesions or damaged areas;
which can effect any part of the body that is controlled by that portion of the brain.
Decreasing the body temperature of a patient has shown to be effective in decreasing
the amount of damage to the brain. Therapeutic hypothermia may be a reasonable
treatment for patients following cardiac arrest due to its ability to decrease the impact
of ischemia; reducing the number of lesions to the brain and possibly reducing the
patient mortality rate. This paper will discuss the benefits, risks, and Mercy Hospital
s protocol for using therapeutic hypothermia following a cardiac arrest.
Article Summary One In the first article, Caring for Patients Receiving Therapeutic
Hypothermia Post Cardiac Arrest in the Intensive Care Unit , Gardner and
MacDonald state that decreasing the body temperature of a patient to 32В° to 34В°
has shown improved outcomes during trials. This treatment is intended for patients
who present with non perfusing ventricular tachycardia or ventricular fibrillation, are
resuscitated to hemodynamic stability, and remain unresponsive (Gardner
MacDonald, p. 15). The article states that brain injury occurs when there is a loss of
oxygen carrying blood flow to the brain. This damage starts at the cellular level and
leads to neurological dysfunction.
9. Pros And Cons Of Racism In America
Do you think America is institutionally racist? Who is at a disadvantage?
Institutional racism means that there is a systematic way for certain groups of
people to be put on a lower level or have a disadvantage than another group of
people. There was definitely institutional racism in America about fifty years ago, and
I know that because I can name specific institutions who were racist to the black
minority. But in order for anyone to fight modern day institutional racism, you have to
tell me what company is being racist, tell me why, and we can fight that together.
Unfortunately for those who believe there is still institutional racism in America, they

Young black men who are shot by the police are very commonly justified, such as
Michael Brown who was shot by police because he went for a cops gun inside a
cops car. Slyville Smith was killed because he had a record of various arrests, and
refused to put his illegally obtained pistol down when an officer asked him to.
Where are the overzealous white cops who are out to take young black men into
prisons for no reason? Where are the cops who kill solely because they re racist?
Some may argue that cops who are pulling people over for small crimes like a
broken tail light or slightly speeding is what causes more police brutality, but if a
cop pulls a person over for a broken tail light, and they get out of the car with a
weapon, is the cop really racist in that scenario? Or is the cop simply protecting
himself and others around them? Racism in the police force is virtually nonexistent.
I can agree that certain individuals will be racist, but one cop being racist in an
entire department of cops does not mean there is an institutionalized issue, and can be
cared for much easier; fire the
10. Race And Race Relations In The United States
Race relations in the United States have never been perfect, and with the
inauguration of the country s first black president, most people believed that race
relations would improve. Then came Ferguson. Then came Baltimore. Then came
the murder of more than 350 unarmed blacks by police officers in 2015. 35% of
Americans are worried a great deal about racial relations in the United States
―double what it was in 2014 (Norman). Since information and breaking news is
so easy to share with people in this age, news of these killings spread much faster.
These problems have been around forever, but the issue has never been broadcasted
on the scale it is now. US citizens, and blacks, in particular, are upset with the current
criminal justice system;

from the door and a gigantic, hairy man stands in there and what follows is Harry
getting a birthday cake and the desired letter. He learns he comes from a wizard
family and that his parents did not die in a car accident. Harry furious asks the
Dursleys if they knew all this time about what he was and Aunt Petunia in disgust
responded that of course she knew, because her sister was one of them. I was the
only one who saw her for what she really was a freak! (53)
Then, he meets Hagrid, the first person belonging to the wizarding world. Hagrid
being half human half giant is like a mentor/friend to Harry. He is the first person
to give Harry a birthday gift; he introduces Harry to the rest of the wizarding world
and provides Harry with all the information he needs. He takes care of Harry by
offering him food or giving him advice. Harry feels for the first time that he is cared
for. Then on his way to Hogwarts, he meets Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger
who would teach him the meaning of friendship and loyalty. During his staying at
Hogwarts, we discover new sides of Harry and how every adventure highlights one of
his best traits. His courage.
Because Harry lived with the Dursleys a good amount of time people would think
Harry drummed all the morals and values out of him. However, Harry learned how to
appreciate the little things the Dursleys would snatch
13. Sects Vs Cults
There are different types of groups that you can branch off of your religion, there
are sects and cults. A sect is a group of people with some different religious beliefs
from the group larger to where they actually belong, like a Church. A Cult is
usually a small group of people who have religious beliefs and practices observed by
others as bizarre. A cultis founded by a powerful leader also known as a charismatic.
Sects have a high degree of pressure with the surrounding society unlike churches.
Sect determines from the Latin word secta which is characterized as school of
thought . It too comes from the English dialect from the Old French secte which is
alluded to as a particular framework of convictions. While a cult is a completely
different interpretation. Cult comes from a Latin word cultus which implies labor,
adore, veneration, or culture . It too entered the English dialect through the French
word culte which is characterized as specific form of worship . At that point later on
in the English dialect it came to mean devotion to an individual or thing . ... Show

One difference that has stood out is that a sect is a small group that follow a
different doctrine than the larger group they separated from. While a Cult is small
wannabe religious group that has very untraditional beliefs, rituals, and practices.
This shows that a sect just derived from a larger group and they branched off by
themselves to practice a different doctrine, some of the sects I found are from Islam
they have Sunni and Shia sects, Judaism has the Karaites, and Hinduism has
Shiyaism and Shaktism sects. While cults are looked at weird and unusual because of
how they practice their own type of religion. Cults have leaders and their leaders
make their people follow them and be

15. The Safety Techniques And Management Strategies Essay
In today s world, coal is the most commonly used fossil fuel. The coal present in
the Pike River Coal Mine had some distinctive qualities. It was bright, lustrous
coking coal with several properties that was sought after by the international steel
makers. They used coke as a source of fuel for blasting furnaces and carbon was used
to bind with iron to produce steel. Therefore, Pike coals unique property of producing
low ash and high fluidity made it potentially valuable resource.
Underground mining is very hazardous due to some reasons like lack of fresh air,
poor ventilation, poor lighting and high level of poisonous gas. Thus, several safety
precautions should be taken for the well being of the miners. Due to lack of these
safety precautions and poor management strategies, on 19th November 2010 an
explosion at Pike River Coal Mine left 29 miners dead. This report will further
discuss on the safety techniques and management strategies taken by the three
protagonists of Pike River Coal Mine the managers, the state and the workers.
OUTSOURCING:
Outsourcing is one of the important management strategy that provides wider access
to world class capabilities and share risks with a partner company. Outsourcing in
mining industry depends on two factors: production factors and capacity based
factors. Production factors are mostly related to the strategic level of outsourcing
whereas capacity based factors related to the tactical level. The Pike River Coal

16. The War Of Sioux And Cheyenne Warriors
On June 25, 1876 in central Montana, off the banks of Little Bighorn, George
Armstrong Custer and his battalion, defeated by the overpowering force of Sioux
and Cheyenne warriors, surprised a nation who had believed that the army was well
prepared and had no doubts of the victory sure to come. A nation determined to take
over the Western Plains despite the people already living there, they saw the native
people as an obstacle to their progress and as a consequence needed to be removed.
Even though the battle at Little Bighorn was a direct result of the United Statesneed
and desire to expand westward, the conflict that arose due to these aspirations
between the army and the Indians would contribute to the growing tension over
disagreement of the land and treatment of the natives.
Due to the overflow of the immigrant population in the East, many white people
began to migrate west. Following the discovery of gold in the West, whites began to
move in large numbers through Lakota territory encountering Indians whom they
were never told about. With the construction of forts to protect the Bozeman trail the
Lakota people, led by Red Cloud, were determined to cease the invasion of whites
into their land. The Indians began to kill anyone that was not a part of their tribe,
leaving their bodies where they fell to be devoured by the wild animals. As a result
of these raids and killings the U.S. government signed the Laramie treaty, granting the
Lakota a large territory that would
17. Review Of Writing A Wall Street Op
To begin with, Flash Boys is terrible. It is not just a major whiff, but a travesty. And
it really ticked me off.
Lewis had a major incentive to over hype the story, as he all but admitted. I fully
agree with Cliff Asness of AQR Capital, who wrote in a Wall Street op ed: Making
mountains out of molehills sells more books than a study of molehills. That is more
or less what happened here. Lewis wanted to sell a lot of books. He wanted to
capture lightning in a bottle (to use his own phrase). He captured irresponsible
hyperbole instead.
In Flash Boys, Lewis immense talent as a writer works against him. He is a master
of storycraft of telling a complex story through the lens of key players. But when the

Reminiscences of a Stock Operator, published in 1923, is the fictionalized version
of Jesse Livermore s true story. A key point in the story is when Livermore (aka
Larry Livingston) goes from trading in the bucket shops to actually trading real
equities on the exchanges, by way of the ticker tape. In this book, more than 90
years old now, Livermore talks about how his bucket shop trading style had to
adjust because instant fills were not available in the real world. He talked of a lag
in the tape that forced him to adjust his style. Sound familiar? Liquidity has always

There has always been a need for middlemen to provide it, and friction / incentive

In the late 1980s, the Justice department busted 46 traders and brokers in the Chicago

The recommended dose, REC treatment, significantly decreased (P 0.0001) SBEC
concentrations compared to increasing doses. E. coli K 12 concentrations were
decreased (P = 0.01) with REC and 1.33xR treatments compared to 1.66xR and
2xR treatments (Table 3). Concentrations of E. coli general were significantly less
(P = 0.032) in REC, 1.33xR and 2xR compared to the 1.66xR treatment.
Numerically, 2xR had the lowest concentration of C. difficile, and 1.66xR had the
lowest concentration of C. perfringens out of the four treatments. Previous work
with human subjects showed E. coli and substrain K 12 possess curcumin
converting activity, which is responsible for curcumin transformation and slowing
down the degradation and metabolic process of curcumin (Hassaninasab et al.,
2011). Thus, increasing the dosage of 95% liposomal curcumin may have
increased the growth activity of E. coli general and K 12 due to curcumin being
broken down in the cecum. This can have a direct effect on these strains
(Hassaninasab et al., 2011). In addition, this may be the reason for concentration
responses. Based on the results from the two batch cultures, the authors decided to
investigate 15 g, 25 g, and 35 g of 500 mg/g of 95% liposomal curcumin for the in

Different situations cause for different reactions, with similar causes. The short story
A Pair of Tickets written by Amy Tan and the story Everyday Use written by Alice
Walker both gives insight on the true gut wrenching feelings behind the importance of
familyand how a mother s opinion can affect the actions and mindset of her children.
Each story has a common foundation, but splits into separate routes. Noting these
similarities and differences can truly help us understand how a family s past can

Mama begins with the words I will wait for her in the yard that Maggie and I made
so clean and wavy yesterday afternoon. A yard like this is more comfortable than
most people know. (Walker 268) Mama feels confident on the feeling of being in a
large area waiting on the arrival of her daughter, but you can still hear the
nervousness and anxiousness she has when she later starts to compare herself and
Maggie to Dee while awaiting her arrival. These stories show us that no matter the
space or the setting awaiting the arrival of a close family member will almost always
generate the same feelings.
When it comes to symbolism, the interesting finding in both short stories is that
both stories mention use of a polaroid picture. Although it is included in both
stories as a keepsake element they both have very different character reactions. In
the short story Everyday Use as the daughter Dee s arrives to the from yard she
takes polaroid pictures of mama and Dee before greeting them. It seemed rushed in
Dee s approach and almost unnoticed by Dee and mama. In retrospect, in the story
A Pair of Two Tickets Jin Mei s mother stuck a polaroid picture with writing on the
back of her address and a message of endearment in her twin daughter s pocket
frantically, in hopes that someone would find them and look at the polaroid to trace
them back to her. It carried so much strength throughout the story which led
20. How I Changed My Life Forever
The one choice that changed my life forever was that our family emigrated from
Hong Kong to Canada in 1974. I was only seven years old. My Chinese name is Sau
Han and this is my immigration history. My family came to Canada for a job offer
but mainly it was for a better life. I had to leave behind many loving familymembers
in Hong Kong. We also left behind our old lives, furniture, car, apartment, and
friends. Our journey began when we hopped on a JAL (Japan airlines) jumbo jet
on a sixteen hour flight to Vancouver, British Columbia with a brief stop over in
Tokyo, Japan. Everything looked foreign to us on our arrival. What we hoped in
the future was to be able to learn English, to adapt to our foreign surroundings, to
settle down in our new home, and to go back to visit our friends and relatives in
Hong Kong. These challenges are just the first of many obstacles to be faced. This
immigration was not just a new beginning for my family but also a window of
opportunity for the next generation. We had an intriguing story of how we
immigrated to Canada. My family consisted of myself, my mom and dad, my older
brother, Chi Hung, my older sister, Sau Seng, and my younger brother, Chi Wai. We
lived in a descent three bedroom apartment in the New Territories, Hong Kong. On
November, 1973, I vividly remembered my dad s ex employer, Mr. Chow, called
long distance from Vancouver, Canada and offered my dad a dim sum chef position
in his restaurant, the Golden

22. Modern America To Early Colonies Analysis
Relation of Modern America to Early Colonies
America has changed quite a bit since its early beginnings as a patchy group of
small European colonies scattered around its vast land. Each of these colonies having
their defeats and triumphs which affect their ideals and ways of living. Two of the
more well known colonies are the Virginia Company and the MassachusettsBay
Colony. But which of these two early American colonies are more identical to the
modern day United States? Ultimately most will find that the more monetary driven
and relatively materialistic Virginia Company shares more in common with modern
America in terms of what motivates us, and the role of religion in our society than the
strict, disciplined, and Calvinist Massachusetts
23. The Old Testament Is Not Inspired By God
Introduction
Many argue that the Bible especially the Old Testament is not the inspired word of
God because of the command to destroy the Canaanites. Many use this as a basis of
their argument that the scriptures are not inspired by God because they wonder how
could God, a God of non violence, mercy and goodness command such a thing. The
focus of this paper will be how is one to respond to this accusation that the Old
Testament is not inspired because of commands to destroy people such as the
Canaanites? This paper will attempt to answer this question by offering contrary
evidence, will argue that when God s nature is properly understood, the command for
destruction of the Canaanites is not against God s nature and that God had justified
reasons in this command. This paper will provide proof of the goodness, mercy and
moral nature of God, as well as the accountability that God demands from all people.
It will then show the justified reason for such commands not only for the Canaanites
but other nations as well. This paper will show that in spite of the commands of
destruction from God that Scripture is indeed inspired by God.
Some of the arguments that God would not command destructions of the Canaanites
or any other nation because it would portray God as an immoral God. It would
portray God as cruel, unmerciful, ruthless, unloving, unforgiving and unjust which is
the opposite of what Christians believe and preach to the lost. Christians today tell
unsaved people that

him to learn from painter Domenico Ghirlandaio. His talent was discovered by
Lorenzo de Medici, who invited Michelangelo to Humanist academy, and in there

[3] Despite that he created numerous masterpieces, his works demonstrated high level
of skills and innovative content. His style that formed in Florence was exposed to
Classical art and humanist thought. For instance, the paintings on the ceiling of the
Sistine Chapel, Michelangelo painted the scenes in reverse chronological order,
and the complexity of figures presents a relaxed and relived mood. Besides, he
emphasized the power inherited in the human body, especially torso. David is a
example in this case, it represented a state of relaxation and tension, and its
proportion is corresponded more to Hellenistic style than Classical Style. His
muscular figures are rendered in exaggerated contrapposto, which are one of the
most monumental images in Western art. [4] On the other hand, Michelangelo s late
style revealed the pressure of patronage on artists during the renaissance. His anxiety
about completing the sculptures is revealed in his work of sculptures and paintings.
Many scholars consider his late style as a mark of the close of renaissance and as
part of new Mannerist development.

29. Examples Of Reproductive Technologies In Movies
Essay four: Reproductive Technologies at the movies
Reproductive technologies are trying to be part of the norms in society. These
movies show that woman can chose to do things that back then would be considered
vulgar, including showing a pregnant lady half naked or being able to have a baby
without a man. If one wants a baby, instead of adopting she can now have her own
biological baby. Kelly Oliver lectured about it, in order to enlighten us about what is
happening now in our society. Biomedical ethics would benefit from studying popular
representations of reproductive technologies, because this is something that is
flourishing; thus, needs our special attention.

Kassie had thrown an insinuation party, Hollywood wanted to show how this form of

into an adult? I never really thought about it myself until I had a child of my own. It
is amazing to see all the psychological stage she has gone through already in her

If a child is born with cataracts and they are removed before the age of seven, that
child s vision will develop normally. If these cataracts are not removed then they
can create extensive damage to their vision for the rest of their life. A sensitive
period is a period in a child s development that is very important for particular kinds
of development.
If a certain behavior is not learned during this sensitive time it just may not develop
to its full potential. For example, if a child is not exposed to language before the
age of seven, he or she may fail to acquire it all together. These preschool years are
significant in a child s intellectual development. There are many Psychologists with
different views and theories about this subject, but I will only talk about the view of
one. This theory of the development of a child is outlined by a Swiss Psychologist
by the name of Jean Piaget. Jean Piaget was known to be one on the century s most
influential thinkers. Piaget thought of children as mini scientists who conduct
experiments on the world just to see what will happen. He categorized development
into four different stages. They are Sensorimotor, Preoperational, Concrete
Operational, and Formal Operational. The first two years of a child s life is the
sensorimotor stage.
This is the time in an infant s life when they are discovering everything. They are

Heroes, as depicted in literature, often undertake the most difficult tasks. They place
themselves in mortal danger in order to bring back knowledge and treasure for
themselves and their societies. Their stories follow what premier mythologist,
Joseph Campbell calls the Hero s Journey . The Hero s Journey archetype is the
typical sequence of events any herowill go through in order to become who he or

into an epic hero. One of the temptresses who causes Odysseus to delay his quest

though Calypso is a temptress, Odysseus does not abandon his initial quest to get

when Odysseus went to the underworld he saw the soul of Anticlea, dead, / [his]

Romeo and Juliet A True Tragedy A tragedy is defined as a play dealing with tragic
events and having an unhappy ending, especially one concerning the downfall of
the main character (Google, 2016). Shakespeare has deviously crafted Romeo and
Juliet to become a famous tragedy alongside Titus Andronicus. These plays fall
into this category due to the character s fate, their flaws and thus creating great
sorrow. Romeo and Juliet is a battle of power and fate as two nemesis battle each
other to discover who reigns superior. Romeo and Juliet is a tale of fate, where
destiny reigns superior. Romeo and Juliet were born into two households, both alike
in dignity (The Prologue, 1), where an ancient grudge causes a family mutiny. This
grudge destroys any chance of Romeo and Juliet becoming husband and wife unless
their family s relationships ameliorated. Nevertheless Romeo and Juliet married
clandestinely and were warned by the priest; Friar Lawrence that with These violent

Friar Lawrence feels guilty as his plan has failed and has killed Romeo and Paris in

her husband dead. This great sadness overwhelms Juliet and she therefore takes her
own life. This sadness touched many as Prince says; For never was a story of more

I will tell you what, husband, answered the wife; we will take the children early in
the morning into the forest, where it is thickest; we will make them a fire, and we
will give each of them a piece of bread, then we will go to our work and leave them
alone; they will never find the way home again, and we shall be quit of them.
No, wife, said the man, I cannot do that; I cannot find in my heart to take my

composition of a Carrier Air Wing (CVW) consists of 3 FA 18E/F, 1 F/A 18G, 1 F

have the ability to perform both the air to air and air to ground role as well as
perform airborne refueling. The requirement to perform airborne refueling is
extremely important as the S 3 Viking was removed from service in 2009. The FA

considerably less than what would be required to strike any targets under the 1200nm

Empathy towards a Mockingbird Sweet and fascinating, graceful and innocent, a
mockingbird is a harmless creature that makes the world more pleasant. This bird
is noted for its mimicry of the calls and songs of other birds and symbolizes
innocence. Mockingbirds don t do one thing but make music for us to enjoy. They
don t eat up people s gardens, don t nest in corncribs, they don t do one thing but
sing their hearts out for us (Lee 119). However, the question still remains what is
innocence or what does it mean to be innocent? According to the Merriam Webster
dictionary innocence is freedom from guilt or sin through being unacquainted with
evil. Within To Kill a Mockingbird, Harper Lee demonstrates the theme of innocence
by portraying certain characters as symbolic mockingbirds . In addition, characters
such as Jean Louise Finch, learn how empathy and compassion come into play before
judging other individuals.
Throughout the novel, there are many hidden mockingbirds , that go through an
endless struggle in order to stay pure. Tom Robinson, presented in part two of the
novel, was a noble man of color who was very helpful towards others regardless of
his disabilities. On many occasions he helped a young white woman, Mayella the
daughter of Bob Ewell, with all her needs because he felt sorry for her.

Dean s life. Once he can accept Dean with all his faults as a new kind of American
saint (39), he is in a better position to understand America itself and to accept the
complexity of the country s postwar condition with its nuclear and communist
paranoia, and its rampant consumerism.
The novel seems to suggest that, if individuals could be made aware of their own
spirituality, and accept complexity as a condition of modern culture, contemporary
America could recover some of the timeless gayety that Kerouac refers to in Mexico
Fellaheen. By an Emersonian act of self reliance, people could better understand and
accept the world as it is if they could better understand themselves. As Sal describes

43. Communication System in Malaysia
INTRODUCTION Every day, in our work and in our leisure time, we come in contact
with and use a variety of modern communication systems and communication media,
the most common being the telephone, radio, television, and the Internet. Through
these media we are able to communicate (nearly) instantaneously with people on
different continents, transact our daily business, and receive information about
various developments and events of note that occur all around the world. Electronic
mail and facsimile transmission have made it possible to rapidly communicate
written messages across great distances. ELEMENT OF COMMUNICATION
SYSTEM Information signal is given to the transmitter which then transmits the
message over the medium to the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

(1946 2000) In 1 April 1946, RTM was established as Radio Malaya operating out
of Singapore, with a Malayan section created in Kuala Lumpur in 1950. The first
English language radio station (now Traxx FM) began operations the same year as
The Blue Network under Radio Malaya. With the independence of Malaya in 31
August 1957 Radio Malaya was split into two; the original studios in Singapore
was taken over by a new station called Radio Singapura and Radio Malaya moved

be later renamed Radio Malaysia on 16 September 1963 with the transmissions

44. Annals Of A Former World Essay
1. Annals of a Former World, by John McPhee
In patient, lyrical prose, McPhee takes the reader on a geologic journey through
the United States. This volume was originally published as 4 books; each is
centered on a road trip the author took with a geologist, observing the earth next to
Eisenhower s great US highways for clues into its geologic past. Annals has this no
borders, idealistic, On the Road for geologists kind of feel (though a bit more grown
up.) I pick up Annals every once in a while when im in a relaxed mood, when im
looking for a good example of literary science writing. Highly recommended as a
companion for camping trips, if you can fit it into your pack.
2. Surely You re Joking, Mr, Feynman, by Richard Feynman
A string of excerpts from Feynman s life/career, Surely You re Joking is probably the
popular science book I have read through the most times, not because it is short, but
because it is at once compelling, understated, and full of indispensable scientific
concepts. Richard Feynman has an uncanny ability to make physics easily
digestible, his lectures are a testament to that and Surely You re Joking is no
exception. Feynman s easy prose makes the reader feel like physics is
understandable, as if he has laid out a diagram of the universe ... Show more content

Enduring Love is a fiction book, partially written from the perspective of a former
scientist, but more importantly, it is a suspenseful story that lets the author s
attitudes towards life bleed through each and every page. Ian McEwan is a well
know rationalist who believes that science is just as much a part of culture as
anything else a position with which I very much empathize. This is a literary tale,
sure, but McEwan manages to mention scientific ideas all over the place, integrating
science and its ways of thinking into the lives of his complex characters and slowly
revealing situations. It s a
45. The Chimney Sweeper By William Walker Analysis
In Songs of Innocence and of Experience, the two poems The Chimney Sweeper
highlight the injustice during Blake s time such as: poverty, child labour, and abuse.
The Chimney Sweeper illustrates William Blake s understanding of innocence and
experience by exposing the hypocritical nature of authority during the 1700s. This
essay will begin with explaining Blake s concept of innocence and experience .
Firstly, William Blakeperceives innocence and experience as contrasting states of the
soul. As a result, the narrators are examples of his understanding through their
accounts of their life. In The Chimney Sweeper (1789), William Blake wrote:
And so Tom awoke and we rose in the dark
And got with our bags brushes to work
Tho the morning was cold, Tom was happy Warm,
So if all do their duty, they need not fear harm. (Blake, Lines 21 24).
The boy and Tom Dacre are innocent through their optimism in their hopes despite
their harsh reality. The essence of Blake s understanding of innocence is the ability
to be joyful and celebratory with hope. In contrast, the narrator in The Chimney
Sweeper (1794) knows that there is no hero or escape from the life of a Chimney
Sweep. Essentially showing experience as the acceptance of the present reality as the
only reality.
On top of that, William Blake s concepts of experience can be further explained
through the imagery used by the narrator in The Chimney Sweeper (1794). In The
Chimney Sweeper (1794), William Blake writes:
And because i am happy, dance sing,
They think they have done me no injury:
And are gone to praise God his Priest King
Who make up a heaven of our misery. ( Lines 9 12).
The boy shows a full understanding of the hopelessness in his situation without
interruption from dreams or thoughts of being saved. He thoroughly explains the
misuse of power in authority in his situation. However, Tom Dacre vividly describes
his friend s dream in two stanzas. The children in The Chimney Sweeper (1789) do
not fully comprehend the harsh reality of chimney sweeps and instead clings to the
ideas of hope.
William Blake illustrates his concepts through highlighting the hypocrisy during the
1700s. The life of a chimney sweeper was
46. The Importance Of The National Security Agency
The role of the NSA and the agency s importance to this country have certainly been
put under scrutiny in the last few years. People are receptive that the United States
government has secrets that are set in place for the benefit of national security ,
however, citizens have been questioning the country s intentions ever since the leak
by Edward Snowden occurred. As technological advances occur, the
conceptualization of the agency s innocence and pure intentions slowly subside.
When Edward Snowden leaked top secret information about the country, legality and
ethics were placed on a metaphorical weight scale of importance to weigh what
sacrifices were worth making. This eventually led people to compromise their rights

As this issue has been recognized in the past, the agency has been forced to go to
court to face the accusation of law bending. In some of these cases, there has been
a ruling of unconstitutionality, however, as time progressed and more of these
cases had come to surface, former U.S. President Bush moved all cases of this
degree to a specific court. By doing this, the public began to feel that the agency s
illegal activities can be automatically defended by a mysterious and unexplained
claim of maintaining national security . When attempting to evaluate the legality of
their actions, only the information available to the public can be evaluated, but
even then, there are issues that have appeared. When reviewing legality concerning
national security, the president and congress will undoubtedly come into play. This
is a responsibility and action that the president gives approval for to maintain his
standards of national security. However, this does not mean that it is a legal route
as FISA is a valid regulation of presidential powers, and therefore that the
wiretapping program is illegal (Lee). As the agency s activities can be accused to be
unconstitutional or illegal, it is easy to assume they are aware of the loopholes and
methods to get around this type of technicality in their eyes. Along with the concern
of legality of surveillance, the ethics behind
47. Blindly Obeying Authority Essay
Introduction Individuals often yield to conformity when they are forced to discard
their individual freedom in order to benefit the larger group. Despite the fact that it is
important to obey the authority, obeying the authority can sometimes be hazardous
especially when morals and autonomous thought are suppressed to an extent that the
other person is harmed. Obedience usually involves doing what a rule or a person
tells you to but negative consequences can result from displaying obedience to
authority for example; the people who obeyed the orders of Adolph Hitler ended up
killing innocent people during the Holocaust. In the same way, Stanley Milgram
noted in his article Perils of Obedience of how individuals obeyed authority and...

Stanley Milgram versus Diana Baumrind In Stanley Milgram s The Perils of
Obedience , Milgram reports from his studies of how far an individual can go in
obedience to instructions and he pointed out that individuals can go as far as
causing serious harm to the other people. Basically, the experiments are meant to
test the choice that an individual would make when faced with the conflict of
choosing between obedience to authority and obedience to one s conscience. From
the tests, it was found out that a number of people would go against their own
conscience of choosing between what is wrong and what is right so as to please the
individual in authority (Milgram 317). However, the experiments conducted by
Milgram caused a wide range of controversy for instance; according to Diana
Baumrind, the experiments were immoral. Baumrind notes in Review of Stanley
Milgram s Experiments on Obedience that Milgram did not only entrap his subjects,
but he also potentially caused harm to his subjects (Baumrind 329). Based on the
arguments that have been presented by the two authors, it is apparent that the two
authors are concerned with real life situations, authority and ethics but the difference
is that they both view these perspectives from different points of view as indicated
by their writings. By and large, they also tend to show the importance or the
insignificance of the experiments. Real Life

Have you ever felt mixed emotions by watching a TV show? Is it possible for a
show to represent love, hate, anger, drama, pain, sadness or even cause you a sense
of distress? The Walking Dead is the perfect show to make you think about how
people act in different situations in life and shows us what type of people these
circumstances can create. The show is based on a post apocalyptic time where the

The Walking Dead represents fear, betrayal, sacrifice, hope, leadership and, the
conflict between good and bad. Fear, the main theme of the show, followed by
sacrifice is portrayed in every episode where everyone fears where are they going
to end the next day, where they find themselves questioning if that is their last day,
scared of losing a loved one and of course, the fear of being eaten by walkers .
Sacrifice, portrayed at its highest, on life or death situations where every character
feels torn between two options that may affect someone in one way or another, as
well when someone will die for the safety of others. Betrayal, one of the most
repetitive themes in the show that represents what will a person do to save himself
/herself in a life or death situation, and in this case, each character try to build up
alliances that at the end, they betray their own, which could lead to someone dying
or getting hurt, depending on the situation. Leadership and hope can be put
together since in the show, the main thing that a leader should do is give his/her
followers hope that everything can get better, and the show portrays it every time
Rick Grimes try to take matters on his hands for his group, considered as his family,
hope as well, as the birth of Rick s daughter, brought a more hopeful future for the
survivors. The walking dead represents each of these themes in a strong way, where
humanity is at its lowest and how human beings see themselves obligated to make
decisions never thought to do in their
