This is part of the "Christian Type" sermon series. The series takes an Old Testament person, examines thier life and makes application to current lives.
The Holiness of Go isaiah 6 and 1 peter 1 - gfecAdrian Kerr
Isaiah has a vision of God on his throne surrounded by angels crying "Holy, holy, holy". Isaiah is overcome by his own sinfulness in comparison. His sins are cleansed and he is called by God to deliver a message of warning. 1 Peter instructs believers to live holy lives as God is holy, by developing disciplined and obedient minds and spirits and offering themselves as living sacrifices to God.
Lesson 20 of 26 in a series on Old Testament Vistas. This sermon on Isaiah 6 was presented April 10, 2011, at Palm Desert Church of Christ, by Dale Wells.
The document discusses proper etiquette and guidelines for Muslim prayer (salah). Some key points:
1) Ablution (wudu) before prayer is strongly emphasized, and praying on time, especially joining congregational prayers.
2) Praying in the mosque is preferred to praying at home, even for those with disabilities. Neighbors of the mosque should pray there.
3) Delaying or neglecting prayers is strongly warned against. Prayer is the first thing one will be judged by on the Day of Judgment.
4) Specific prayer postures like bowing, prostrating, removing shoes are outlined. Five daily prayers are prescribed.
The document discusses the concept of the Holy One in the Bible. It provides several Bible verses from Ephesians, Isaiah, Hosea, Mark, Job, and Ezekiel that refer to God as the Holy One. The overall message is that the Bible speaks of there being one Holy One, which is God, rather than a Holy Three of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
The document discusses several passages from scripture that mention fasting and prayer. The passages describe people fasting and praying to receive revelation and spiritual gifts, to have their enemies delivered into their hands, and to have the Lord open doors and heal individuals. Fasting is presented as an important spiritual practice that brings people closer to God.
Isaiah has a vision of God on his throne surrounded by angels calling "Holy, holy, holy." Overcome with conviction of his own sinfulness, Isaiah confesses that he is "a man of unclean lips." One of the angels then touches Isaiah's lips with a burning coal, cleansing him of his sins. God then asks "Whom shall I send?" and Isaiah volunteers, saying "Here am I; send me." The summary captures the key events of Isaiah's prophetic call: his conviction of sin, confession, cleansing, and renewed commitment to service.
A Journey exploring few of the living signs and prophecies in the Old and New testament that assures the authenticity of the final revelation "Quraan".

God then commissions Isaiah to deliver a difficult message to the people - that they will hear God's word but not understand or perceive its meaning. Isaiah is to make the people's hearts and ears unwilling or unable to receive God's message.

It then shares several excerpts from Psalms that discuss taking refuge in God and not fearing evil because God is with and protects believers even when facing dangers or enemies. The Psalms passages express confidence that God will deliver believers from trouble.
Colossians 4 11 they have proved a comfort power point church sermonPowerPoint_Sermons
This document contains greetings from Jesus, also called Justus, who is one of the only Jewish Christians among the author's coworkers spreading the kingdom of God. It notes that these Hebrew Christians have provided comfort and relief to the author alone among the circumcised believers. The document also contains references to Colossians 4:11 and slides for announcements, goodbyes, and adding titles at an event.
Paul writes to the Colossians to introduce his struggle for them and others who have not met him personally. He struggles so that they may be encouraged, united in love, and have full understanding and knowledge of God's mystery, which is Christ. His purpose is to prevent them from being deceived by fine-sounding arguments. Though absent, Paul delights to see how orderly and firm in faith the Colossians are.
Resurrection seth gatchell april 1 2018 sg editedLance Brown
After Jesus' death, a Roman centurion declares him to be the Son of God. His body is taken by Joseph of Arimathea and buried. On the third day after, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome go to anoint Jesus' body but find the stone rolled away and a young man tells them Jesus has risen. Jesus later appears to his disciples, showing them his crucifixion wounds to prove he is not a ghost but has risen in the flesh. He eats fish and opens their minds to understand the Scriptures foretelling his suffering, death, and resurrection.
0514 1 corinthians 144 those who prophesy edify the church power point church...PowerPoint_Sermons
The document discusses how those who speak in tongues edify themselves but prophesying edifies the church. It quotes 1 Corinthians 14:4 multiple times to support this, explaining that speaking in tongues improves the individual while prophesying, or interpreting God's message, improves the church through wisdom, piety, holiness and happiness. The document also contains welcome messages and announcements for a church meeting.
There are 7 types of praise mentioned in the document:
1. Barak - To kneel or bow in reverence and honor God's royalty.
2. Yadah - To worship with extended hands in total surrender.
3. Towdah - A prophetic praise praising God before the battle is over.
4. Shabach - A shout praise exalting the holiness of God.
5. Halal - The root word for praise in Hebrew and is used in "Hallelujah".
6. Tehillah - To sing praises.
7. Zamar - To praise God with string instruments.
Prophet Muhammad taught that people should strive to reach their full potential and do everything with excellence. This requires having courage with conviction, patience with perseverance, power with mercy, and other positive traits. People can attain their full potential by following the Prophet's advice to only say what is good or remain silent. The Quran also teaches that those who hope to meet their Lord should do righteous deeds without worshipping anything besides God.
Sl2.3 Seerah of the Prophet Muhammed (sws)Ayah Moonfruit
The document summarizes some of the special qualities of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). It describes how he was extremely patient and understanding, even when faced with insults. It discusses how generous he was, giving away possessions without hesitation. It also notes his sense of humor, using jokes to sometimes derive Islamic rulings. Most importantly, it highlights the Prophet's immense love for the Muslim community, sacrificing his one guaranteed prayer request from God to ask for forgiveness for all believers in the afterlife.
The believer’s prayer life presentation groupkris_lewis
This document provides strategies for building prayer in our lives, families, churches, and cities. It discusses the biblical pattern for prayer given in Exodus 30 of mixing oil with specific ingredients like stacte, onycha, and galbanum. These ingredients represented humility, the prophetic, and God's upholding power. The document also outlines the 8 prayer watches of the morning, noon, and night that can be strategic times to pray based on biblical examples. Specific strategies are given for praying at different watch times like midnight for uncommon breakthrough or noon to counter witchcraft. The overall message is that following God's divine patterns and strategies through consistent prayer will lead to his blessing and breakthrough.
0514 romans 51 since we have been justified power power point church sermonPowerPoint_Sermons
According to Romans 5:1, believers have been justified, or declared righteous, through faith and therefore have peace with God through Jesus Christ. Having been acquitted of their sins and given a right standing with God, Christians can grasp and enjoy reconciliation and peace with God made possible by their Lord and Savior. The verse establishes that through faith in Christ, one is made righteous in God's sight and has peace with Him as a result.
The document contains lyrics from several contemporary Christian worship songs that praise God and express a longing for deeper connection with Him. The songs reference God's power, glory, and presence as well as a desire for Him to reign in the worshipper's life and soul. They portray God as king, lord, and the source of salvation, healing, and strength.
CHORUS:
Stand up for righteousnessStand up for the truth you knowMany are gone astrayAnd we must show them the wayStand up but not for fightStand up and wave the lightMany are gone astrayAnd we must show them the way
The document provides information about a youth club workshop on Tawheed (belief in Allah). It discusses various topics related to establishing and understanding Tawheed, including the existence of God through logical reasoning and observations of prayers, prophets, and miracles. It defines the three categories of Tawheed - Rububiyah, Uluhiyyah, and Asmaa was-siffaat. It also discusses other forms of shirk (polytheism) and covers angels and jinns.
Sl2.2 Seerah of the Prophet Muhammed (sws)Ayah Moonfruit
The document summarizes some key special qualities of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). It describes how his beauty was compared to the moon, and how the chief Rabbi of Madina instantly recognized his honesty and converted upon meeting him. It also notes that the Prophet led a simple life, sleeping on a harsh bed made more comfortable with palm leaves, as he wanted to wake easily for prayers. He avoided luxuries and never ate wheat bread or rice to his fill. During the Battle of Badr when camels were distributed, the Prophet shared one with others rather than taking it alone, teaching the value of humility and equality.
The document discusses divinely revealed books in Islam. It mentions that Muslims believe in all books revealed by God, including the Torah given to Moses, Psalms given to David, and the Gospel. It provides details on some of the main messages and values contained in these prior scriptures, such as justice and reciprocity in the Torah. The document also discusses lost books like the Scrolls of Abraham and states that while the texts may have been corrupted over time, they originally contained guidance from God.
In the call of Isaiah, we see the willingness of the prophet Isaiah, as he says yes to God. However, a little less obvious is God’s challenge in recruiting. The words “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Show us that God Himself was having some difficulty in his recruiting efforts. We also see that the call was a difficult call. Isaiah was called to minister to a stubborn people. His call was to give God’s people another chance to say “No” so as to increase their culpability and prove the righteousness of God’s judgment. This was not a call to preach prosperity and achieve popularity. Rather, in saying YES, Isaiah was most certainly going to gain the disdain of his fellow Israelites.
The document provides information about the tribe of Judah and different aspects of praise based on biblical sources. It discusses how Judah means "praise of Jehovah" and was the ruling tribe from which kings and the lawgiver came. It then lists 10 types of biblical praise such as barach, halal, tehillah, and explains their meanings. The power of praise to send the enemy running and examples from scripture are also summarized.
This document discusses a rebuke given to one of the seven churches in Revelation. It summarizes that some in the church were tolerating the teachings of Balaam and the Nicolaitans. The teaching of Balaam promoted greed and idolatry, while the Nicolaitans' teaching was hated by God. The church is warned to repent or face war from Christ's mouth. If they conquer, they will receive hidden manna and a white stone with a new secret name. The document cautions against tolerating sin either as individuals or congregations.
Jonah was distressed after his successful preaching led over 120,000 people in Nineveh to repent. God caused a plant to grow and then destroy it to remind Jonah that God is in control. The passage encourages examining one's priorities and whether one is more focused on trivial worldly things over the salvation of people's souls, as Jonah was more upset over the loss of a plant than the people of Nineveh turning to God.
Isaiah has a vision of God on His heavenly throne surrounded by angels called seraphim. When Isaiah sees the glory and holiness of God, he becomes aware of his own sinfulness. Isaiah is to make the people's hearts and ears unwilling or unable to receive God's message.

This document discusses the importance of gratitude based on biblical passages. It notes that Jesus was thankful for basic necessities, children, answered prayers, opposition, and his death. The document encourages showing gratitude to God through worship, words, and making it an attitude by living thankfully. It asks the reader to consider when they last showed gratitude to God and challenges them to regularly express gratitude.
The document discusses a church in Sardis that was on the brink of death. Christ commended the few who had remained faithful, but rebuked the church overall for being spiritually dead despite a reputation of being alive. Christ warned the church to wake up, strengthen what remains, and repent or else he would come unexpectedly to judge them. If the church remembered what they heard, kept it, and repented, Christ promised that the faithful would walk with him in white and have their names confessed before God.
Abram, later called Abraham, is presented as a Christian type who demonstrated faith by obeying God's call to leave his home and move to an unknown land. God established a covenant with Abraham and blessed him so that he would be a blessing to others. The document references Bible passages that show Abraham rescuing his nephew Lot, his situation with sacrificing Isaac, and being mentioned in the story of the rich man and Lazarus. It emphasizes that Abraham both moved at God's command and built altars to worship God in response to receiving blessings.
This lesson is in a series called "Christian Types." The lessons are using Old Testament characters to show Christian practices. Esau is the example of reconciliation.
This document discusses Jonah's mission to preach to Nineveh and the people's response. It lists five bad sermon intros to avoid and examines how Jonah likely preached in a harsh tone, viewing the people negatively. Jonah simply proclaimed Nineveh's destruction, and over 120,000 people believed and repented, fasting and calling out to God, which displeased Jonah. The document encourages responding positively when people believe the message, even if it makes us uncomfortable, and responding to people's responses with acceptance as seen in Acts.
This message was presented during our Friends and Family day. We had many visitors present and this lesson was to encourage those who did not have a church family.
The document discusses religious leaders called "lemmings" who want to silence those spreading the word of Jesus despite undeniable signs and miracles. It references Acts 4:16-17 where religious leaders want to warn people from speaking about Jesus to prevent the news from spreading further. However, the document also references Acts 4:19-20 where Peter and John refuse to stop preaching about Jesus, saying they must obey God rather than men.
Your moral compass - Ahithophel Christian Type #4Chris Gallagher
This document discusses moral compasses and what influences them. It defines a moral compass as something that guides decisions based on morals and virtues. It then lists some common influences on one's moral compass like education, religion, emotions, and circumstances. The document uses the biblical example of Ahithophel, King David's counselor who betrayed him, to show how circumstances can influence one's moral compass. It concludes by advising people to seek truth, act on it, and live in love in order to have a strong, reliable moral compass.
This is part #1 of a sermon series on "Types of Christians." In this series we are examining the character of Christians through the eyes of Old Testament people.
This week's person was Lot. The "Lot Christian" is someone who sees the physical and leaves the secure."
The document discusses the church in Laodicea that was lukewarm in their faith, neither fully devoted to God nor rejecting him. Christ rebukes them for their half-hearted faith and urges them to buy gold, white garments, and eye salve to strengthen their faith. He warns that because they are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, he will reject them unless they become fully devoted believers who overcome spiritual complacency.
The document discusses the concept of hell and describes it as an eternal place of fire and no relief or hope according to passages from the Bible. It warns that hell is the deserved punishment for those who spurn God and his son and outlines that vengeance belongs to God alone. The document ultimately suggests that hell is a choice, known to one's own conscience.
The Church Everyone Wants to Be - PhiladelphiaChris Gallagher
The document discusses the Church of Faithfulness, one of the seven churches mentioned in Revelation. It commends the church for keeping God's word and not denying his name despite having little power. It urges the church to remain faithful and hold fast to what they have been given, so that no one can take away their crown. Remaining faithful to God even during trials will result in being made a pillar in his temple.

God calls Jonah to go to Nineveh and preach against their evil. However, Jonah flees by ship to Tarshish to escape God's calling. The document explores why Jonah might have fled, such as fear of the Ninevites or God's message. It also examines whether the reader has missed their own calling to proclaim God, just as Jonah missed his calling to Nineveh. Readers are encouraged to realize their calling comes through the gospel and by being made holy by Christ.
1) Isaiah has a vision of God on His heavenly throne surrounded by angelic beings called seraphim. The seraphim praise God as holy.
2) Seeing the holiness and glory of God, Isaiah becomes aware of his own sinfulness. A seraphim touches Isaiah with a burning coal to purify him.
3) God commissions Isaiah to deliver a message to the people of Israel, even though many will not understand or accept it. Isaiah is to prophesy up until the time of exile when only a remnant will remain.
Isaiah has a vision of being in the temple where he sees God sitting on a throne. Seraphim surround God praising him as holy. Isaiah realizes his own sinfulness in comparison. A seraph touches Isaiah's lips with a burning coal from the altar, cleansing him and removing his guilt so he can be God's prophet.
The document provides an overview and commentary on various passages from the book of Isaiah in the Bible. It discusses Isaiah's role as a prophet in ancient Israel, his prophecies about the coming Messiah that are reflected in the New Testament, and personal connections the author has to passages in Isaiah about divine healing. The document examines key themes in Isaiah like monotheism, the new Exodus, and God's plans for restoration and rebuilding according to his will and righteousness.
This document discusses how worshipping God involves looking upward to his holiness, inward at one's own sinfulness and need for repentance, and outward to be cleansed and prepared for his work. It notes how Isaiah saw God's holiness and realized his own sin, but was cleansed by an angel to speak for God. Similarly, true worship feeds the mind with God's truths, quickens the conscience with his holiness, cleanses the conscience with his beauty, opens the heart to his love, and devotes the will to his purpose. Worshippers are then sent forth to take God to others.
This document provides a summary of the book of Isaiah from the Bible. It discusses several key points from Isaiah, including prophecies about the coming Messiah in Isaiah 53, Isaiah's writing of the entire book despite claims of dual authorship, and personal connections the author has to passages in Isaiah 38 about God extending a king's life. The document references many other Bible passages and commentaries to support its examination of themes in Isaiah.
King Uzziah's pride led to him being struck with leprosy, leaving his son Jotham to share the reign. Isaiah was called to prophesy during this crisis. God renewed Isaiah's call with a vision of His holiness while in the temple. Isaiah saw God on His throne with fiery seraphim praising His holiness. Isaiah was condemned but his sins were purged when a seraph touched his lips with a burning coal from the altar. When God asked who would prophesy for Him, Isaiah volunteered, saying "Here am I, send me." The vision strengthened Isaiah's faith to fulfill his mission despite opposition.
THE SABBATH SCHOOL - 1st QUARTER 2021 - LESSON 2Adam Hiola
Isaiah has a vision of God on his throne surrounded by angels calling "Holy, holy, holy". He feels condemned for his sin until a burning coal touches his lips and cleanses him. When God asks who will spread his message, Isaiah volunteers, saying "Here am I, send me". God warns that many will reject the message and their hearts will harden, while those who accept will be called "holy seed". All Christians have a duty to spread the gospel in whatever work or profession they pursue.
Isaiah has a vision of God on his throne after the death of King Uzziah. In the vision, Isaiah sees God in the temple surrounded by fiery angels praising His holiness. Isaiah feels condemned for his sin until one of the angels touches his mouth with a burning coal from the altar, cleansing him. God then commissions Isaiah to preach warnings to Israel, but many will refuse to listen and their hearts will grow hard. Despite potential opposition, Isaiah accepts the call, saying "Here am I, send me."
The document describes Isaiah's call to be a prophet. Isaiah saw a vision of God on his throne surrounded by angels calling "Holy, holy, holy." This vision humbled Isaiah and made him aware of his own sinfulness. A seraphim touched Isaiah's lips with a burning coal, cleansing him of sin. When God asked "Whom shall I send?" Isaiah responded "Here am I, send me." This vision and call strengthened Isaiah for his prophetic ministry of over 60 years, bringing messages of salvation for all people.
The document describes new Sunday morning Bible classes beginning on September 7th at Sunset International Bible Institute. There will be six classes covering topics like James, How to Study the Bible, Romans, I & II Peter, and Ephesians. Four classrooms will focus on age-specific topics that will rotate throughout the year.
A. When? The vision occurred in the year that King Uzziah died.
B. What? Isaiah saw God sitting on a throne and was overwhelmed by God's holiness, confessing his own sinfulness. A seraphim then cleansed Isaiah's sins with a burning coal.
C. Why? God then commissioned Isaiah to go and speak for God, to which Isaiah responded saying "Here am I, send me."
The document discusses restoring life through worship. It defines worship as bowing in obedient reverence to God. The document questions if worship has become entertainment rather than reverence for God. It advocates following God's word on worship by keeping the focus on God, not people, and warns against making worship self-centered. The document notes Isaiah's example in Isaiah 6, where Isaiah encounters God's presence, sees his own unworthiness, and is cleansed and recommitted through reverent worship.
This document summarizes the rebuilding of Jerusalem after the exile in Babylon. It describes how Cyrus, king of Persia, was stirred by God to issue a decree allowing the exiles to return and rebuild the temple. Approximately 50,000 people returned, including leaders from Judah and Benjamin and priests and Levites. They traveled for four months and upon arrival in Jerusalem, began rebuilding the altar and celebrating religious festivals according to the Law of Moses as they worked to restore the house of God.

It discusses when Isaiah was written, the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls in 1947, and analysis of text from Isaiah chapters 1-3 found in the Great Isaiah Scroll. Key points include that the Book of Isaiah contains prophecies about judgment and promise, and passages from Isaiah foretell the coming of the Messiah and the rebuilding of Jerusalem by King Cyrus over 150 years before Cyrus was born.
I. Uzziah's reign in Judah ended with him becoming a leper after arrogantly performing priestly duties. Isaiah then has a vision of God on his throne, surrounded by angels singing "Holy, holy, holy".
II. Upon seeing the holiness and glory of God, Isaiah is overwhelmed by his own sinfulness. However, one of the angels touches Isaiah's lips with a burning coal from the altar, cleansing him from sin.
III. God asks who will go speak for him, and Isaiah volunteers, saying "Here am I; send me". Isaiah recognizes humanity's need for holiness and repents from his sin, opening himself up to be used by God.
Stephen, a faithful follower of Jesus chosen to serve the early Christian community, was falsely accused of blasphemy and brought before the Jewish high council. When questioned, Stephen delivered a speech recounting Israel's history and accusing the council members of rejecting God and killing the prophets, including Jesus. Enraged by Stephen's testimony, the council had him stoned to death outside the city. As he was dying, Stephen prayed for forgiveness for his murderers. Saul, later known as the Apostle Paul, approved of and participated in Stephen's execution, which sparked widespread persecution that led to the dispersion of believers and spread of the Christian faith.

God's definition of good is conformity to his will in order to live with him eternally. Several verses in Romans chapter 8 qualify this, explaining that through the Holy Spirit, believers can realize God's goodness and strengthen their relationship with him. Specifically, the Spirit helps believers, intercedes for them, and those in Christ have God on their side. To experience God's goodness, one should be in Christ, focus their mind on spiritual things, communicate with God in prayer, and live according to his purpose.

A375 Example Taste the taste of the Lord, the taste of the Lord The taste of...franktsao4
It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375
