But what was the spark?

World War II began with Germany's invasion of Poland
on September 1, 1939. This prompted Britain and
France to declare war on Germany, escalating into a
global conflict involving major powers.
10. U.S involvement in WW2
The U.S. stayed neutral in the early years of WWII, but
after Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941, they
entered the war. President Roosevelt declared war on
Japan, leading Germany and Italy, Japan's allies, to
declare war on the U.S. The U.S. then became a crucial
Allied member, contributing significantly to the war
effort in both Europe and the Pacific.

Between 1933 and 1945, the German
government led by Adolf Hitler and the
Nazi Party carried out the systematic
persecution and murder of Europe’s Jews, as well as
other groups Nazis thought to be inferior.
This genocide is now known
as the Holocaust.

1940-1944:
• All German-Jews were deported out of Germany to Poland.
• Jews were forced to live in ghettos
