Workmanship
& Mutual Understanding
Workmanship
• Total Productive Maintenance (TPM);
• One of the wasteful activitiy where waste in
maintenance occurs that Lean maintenance needs to
focus on: Rework – Having to repeat tasks, or do
additional tasks, as a result of poor workmanship.
• ISO 9001;
• To improve workmanship due to the competitive
demand for quality projects and infrastructure in the
market.
Mutual Understanding
• Common sense
• sound, practical judgment concerning everyday matters, or a
basic ability to perceive, understand, and judge in a manner
that is shared by nearly all people.
• Common knowledge
• is knowledge that is known by everyone or nearly everyone,
usually with reference to the community in which the term is
used.
• Mutual understanding is needed to bridge the gap
between common sense and common knowledge
Example 1
Use metal epoxy to patch hole.
