system designed to provide

NO-FAULT SYSTEM
Workers' compensation is a no-fault system. This means you're entitled
to receive these benefits regardless of who caused the injury. In spite
of this, receiving your workers' compensation benefits is often a
complicated and challenging process. Many claims are unfairly

Medical Treatment
Employers must provide
"reasonable and necessary
medical treatment" through
their workers' compensation
insurance.
Temporary Partial Disability (TPD)
This replaces the difference in wages between
what you earn while working and what you
would be receiving on TTD.
Temporary Total Disability (TTD)
This covers a portion of wages if you're
completely unable to work while recovering
from your injury.
Permanent Partial Disability (PPD)
This compensates you for a permanent
disability suffered from the workplace injury.

6. WHAT TO DO AFTER A
WORKPLACE INJURY
Report the injury to your employer and
fill out an incident report right away.
Failure to do so may result in your
employer disputing your benefits claim.
Seek medical attention at once. It's
improtant to receive treatment from a
doctor specified by your employer's
workers' compensation insurance.
Going to your own doctor may result in
your claim being denied.
During your medical visit, tell the doctor
about all your symptoms, any
limitations you're facing and the actions
that exacerbate the injury to ensure
everything is properly documented.

7. Once you notify your
employer of the injury,
your employer must
submit a form called
"Employer's First Notice of
Injury" to the Oklahoma
Workers' Compensation
Commission.
If your claim is approved,
your benefits will begin
shortly. If your claim is
denied, you can file an
appeal. It's important to
work with an experienced
attorney if your claim is
denied and you plan to
appeal.
The insurance company has 15-30
days to review your employer's
"First Notice of Injury," your
medical records, workplace
incident report and other relevant
information to determine your
eligibility for benefits.
