This document summarizes the planning and construction process for renovating a homeowner's kitchen. It describes 7 key challenges that arose during the project, including fitting cabinets around a stairwell, dealing with an unlevel ceiling, improving the neighbor's view, incorporating all of the homeowner's desired storage features, upgrading to a built-in microwave, discovering a water leak, and ensuring tile transitions looked seamless. Photos show the "before," "during," and "after" stages of the renovation. The kitchen remodel was completed on time despite these challenges.

The document discusses the benefits of exercise for mental health. Regular physical activity can help reduce anxiety and depression and improve mood and cognitive functioning. Exercise boosts blood flow, releases endorphins, and promotes changes in the brain which help enhance one's emotional well-being and mental clarity.
The document provides rules and guidelines for students using the computer lab, including not allowing food or drink, cleaning headphones before putting them away, turning off lights and closing doors when leaving, and only printing with permission. Students are informed they may be graded on projects done in the lab and will have opportunities to do activities related to various school subjects as well as things like podcasts, research, and editing images, depending on how well they follow directions and stay on task. The final section reminds students they signed acceptable use agreements to abide by rules and treat equipment properly or they will lose technology privileges.
1) The document discusses endocrine resistance in hormone receptor-positive advanced breast cancer. It summarizes results from the CONFIRM and BOLERO-2 clinical trials which evaluated treatments for overcoming resistance.
2) The CONFIRM trial found that fulvestrant 500 mg resulted in significantly longer progression-free survival compared to 250 mg. It also showed a clinically relevant improvement in overall survival.
3) The BOLERO-2 trial found that everolimus (an mTOR inhibitor) plus exemestane resulted in significantly longer progression-free survival compared to placebo plus exemestane, with a 57% reduction in risk of progression.
The document discusses the benefits of exercise for mental health. Regular physical activity can help reduce anxiety and depression and improve mood and cognitive functioning. Exercise boosts blood flow and levels of serotonin and endorphins which elevate mood and may help prevent mental illness.
- Children acquire language through a creative process, not through direct instruction, and are born with an innate language faculty that enables them to learn grammar from linguistic input.
- Children progress through stages in language acquisition from babbling to one-word utterances to putting words together in sentences according to the grammatical rules of their language.
- Theories of language acquisition include the idea that children extract rules through analogy, imitation, and reinforcement from their environment or that they are guided by an innate universal grammar.
Technology and second language acquisitionMilton Gomez
The document discusses technology and its role in second language acquisition. It defines technology as the application of knowledge and skills to develop tools that solve problems. The document then outlines some advantages and disadvantages of using technology for second language learning. Key advantages include increased exposure to the target language, opportunities for practice, and greater motivation. Disadvantages include lack of access for some students and imperfect software.

Climate Impact of Software Testing at Nordic Testing DaysKari Kakkonen
My slides at Nordic Testing Days 6.6.2024
Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.
