2. FADE IN:
EXT. WOODS - EVENING
JAY leads the way through the dark and gloomy woods. It’s the
sort of place you wouldn’t want to visit during the day, let
alone on the brink of dusk.
Blindly following him are his best friends, BLAKE and ALISHA.
Twigs snap beneath their feet. Jay stops dead in his tracks.
He turns back to face them.
JAY
This is the spot.
ALISHA
Then where is he?
JAY
I don’t know.
BLAKE
The twat’s probably running late.
It wouldn’t be the first time.
Jay takes out his mobile. He is about to make a call when a
fireball suddenly shoots past him. He jumps, dropping his
phone in the process.
JAY
That’s real mature. Prick.
Blake gives him the finger.
ALISHA
Enough, guys. Let’s find out what
Harry wants and be done with it.
BLAKE
If it is him.
Jay picks up his phone from the ground.
JAY
I got the call from him the other
day. Look. I know what you guys
must be thinking...
BLAKE
How can a dead person be contacting
us? Yeah, no shit.
JAY
After the crash, you guys got
your...powers. So it isn’t much of
a stretch to think he might have
survived.
3. 2.
Jay puts the phone to his ear as he makes the call.
A phone rings in the background. They head to the location of
the ringing phone. They look for Harry, but he is nowhere to
be seen. The call cuts out.
ALISHA
I knew this was a waste of time.
JAY
He’s out here. He’s got to be.
Blake and Alisha turn to walk away.
JAY (CONT’D)
Alisha!
Jay makes another phonecall.
This time, the phone rings in the opposite direction. He
heads towards it. He finds it on the ground. He picks it up.
A twig snaps behind him. He swings around, jumping at the
sight of Blake and Alisha standing before him.
JAY (CONT’D)
(relieved)
Fuck, guys.
BLAKE
What did you find?
Jay shows them the phone.
Blood drips onto the side of Alisha’s face. She touches it.
ALISHA
What the...?
Upon the realisation that it is blood, she screams and runs
away. Jay and Blake sprint desperately across the woods,
although they branch away from Alisha.
Jay stops running. He grabs his chest while gasping for air.
JAY
(chokes)
Blake, wait!
BLAKE
Sorry, mate.
Blake continues sprinting, never looking back.
Jay fumbles inside his pocket and he takes out his inhaler.
He takes a puff. Slowly but surely, his breathing gradually
returns to normal.
4. 3.
Blake eventually stops, his breathing heavy and sweat drips
from his forehead. He slumps against a tree.
Footsteps approach. He holds his breath as the footsteps
pass. He waits momentarily before stepping out. His face
suddenly distorts and then he disappears without a trace.
Alisha trips over. Footsteps approach from the distance,
drawing nearer and nearer and then nothing.
ALISHA
(cries)
Why are you doing this?! Jay was
the one driving! Please!
It leans in close, whispering into her ear.
HARRY (O.S.)
But you left me.
Alisha screams. It echoes throughout the woods. Jay turns
around upon hearing it.
JAY
Alisha? Alisha, are you there?
Jay heads in the direction of her scream. He continuously
looks for both her and whatever else might be out there.
JAY (CONT’D)
Harry! I know I shouldn’t have been
driving that night. It was the
worst fucking mistake I have ever
made. If you want revenge on
anyone, take it out on me. The
others don’t deserve this.
His eyes begin to flicker. He looks up, his eyes red. This is
no longer Jay, but now Harry. Courtesy of the accident.
HARRY
Oh, but they did...
His eyes return to normal. Jay begins to walk away as if
nothing ever happened.
FADE TO BLACK.
