Women's participation in sports in India is very low due to gender inequality and socio-psychological factors. In the past, girls were encouraged to focus on domestic tasks rather than sports like boys. While some national programs have aimed to promote women's sports, participation remains low. A few Indian women have represented the country in Olympics, winning medals in athletics, boxing, and badminton. However, women face many barriers inside and outside sports such as stereotypes, family commitments, lack of role models, fewer sports opportunities, and less media coverage and rewards than men. Improving women's participation requires actions like prioritizing safety, coaching, facilities, and education as well as increasing awareness, competition opportunities, and media coverage
