The company was started in 1945 by Mohamed Premji in Maharashtra as
Western India Palm Refined Oil Limited as a manufacturer of vegetables and
refined oil in Amalner, Maharashtra.

finance, health care and life sciences, retail, global media and
telecom.
In order to provide customers with an integrated solution they also provide
hardware products in relation to software.
Now it is one of the largest multinational corporations in India having

8. EDUCATIONAL INITIATIVES BY WIPRO
MAGIC BUS BENGALURU:
➢ Commenced in the year 2013.
➢ 500 children in the area on the importance of gender
issues, education and personal health and hygiene.
➢ 20 youth leaders from the community that would be
trained to take up leadership roles.
➢ Mentoring model and has a sports-based curriculum.

9. HEALTHCARE INITIATIVES BY WIPRO
AMALNER HEALTH CARE PROJECT:
➢ Commenced in the year 2012.
➢ To achieve 100% early registration, pregnancy
services, institutional deliveries.
➢ Spread awareness to stop female foeticide.
➢ Build the capacities of the VHSC (Village Health
& Sanitation Committee) in the area.

➢ It is visible that Wipro has done a lot for upliftment of the society. They
have not confined themselves to one particular cause, but with each and
every problem that is being encountered by the various sections of the
society.
➢ Wipro should continue to serve still better so that Wipro becomes a
household name throughout the company, bringing lights in the life of the
people who have suffered because of man and nature created problems.
