This document discusses Robin Monteiro's calling to preach. It explores ways to discern a calling through inner resonance with one's spirit, encouragement from community, and a sense of compulsion. It describes how life experiences seemingly unrelated have pointed to this calling, from childhood speaking in church to unexpected opportunities to preach. The document concludes that everything in one's life can prelude the opportunities of this moment, and retrospection enables one to be fully present now.

Short slide presentation on how to care for disaster victims. Ultra-basic and cursory to help high school students on a short term missions trip be equipped to serve with some elemental teaching. Presented by Pastor Daron Butler, Pastor of Cross-cultural Ministries 06.01.11 for HSM Wooster Grace
After years of ministering around world Uebert Angel had an encounter with the Lord that changed not only the message he preached but the man himself. “I never called you to preach the works, but to preach what I used to preach in my earthly ministry, the gospel (Euagellion), news nearly too good to be true).
The Benedictine Rule has no chapter on encouragement, but sprinkles advice throughout. Slides from an Oblate meeting in January 2018 at St. Scholastica Monastery in Duluth, MN.

We have made a presentation on 'Job Dissatisfaction'. We made a 'Pareto chart' that shows the statistics of the various reason of job dissatisfaction. One of us has a family business. So we spoke to the people working in his firm about whether they are dissatisfied with their jobs or no. And if they are not satisfied with their job then we asked them the reason about their dissatisfaction. We took a count of these people and using this statistics we made the pareto chart.

Poverty Chastity and Obedience are the 3 big counsels that lead to holiness and freedom comes from the truth and to discover what is really true we use reason and grace with faith, the knowledge of understanding that there is more to life than we can see or understand
This is a collection of writings dealing with the advice of the Holy Spirit to listen to the voice of God and do what He asks. Do not harden your heart and disobey His will. You can be sure of judgment if you do. So listen,
Parents are the first and foremost teachers of the faith in any religion. Yet some parents struggle with passing on the faith effectively to their children. This presentation discusses the foundation of parents as first teachers of the faith, but extends the discussion to include ways the faith community can respond to support parents in that role of first teachers of the faith.

Editor's Notes
You need to be sure of your vocation no matter what the call. But the call to preach needs to be one of particular certainty. With all the calls one could answer, business, the arts, teaching, why does the clergyman heed the call to Preach? And how can you be sure it is your call? I will attempt to answer these questions by applying some of the principles of Gordon T. Smith’s book Courage and Calling to my own experience and share them with you.
Every call should be accompanied by an inner sense of purpose. Do you get a feeling of fulfillment when exercising your gift? For me, each occasion to speak was accompanied with a feeling that this is what I’ve been called to do.
In addition, a call of God will often times be accompanied with encouragement from the people around you. My old pastor used to say if you want to know what your calling is do something. And the people around you will tell you if that’s your calling.
With any call there needs to be a sense of “gotta do it”. A true call will be something that you feel you have to do . There was, and maybe still is a minister on the corner of State and Madison in Chicago. He has been there more than 3 decades proclaiming the gospel and calling people to repentance. If you must preach then that is your calling.
As you look back in your life you may see a string of events, seemingly unrelated at the time, but when taken in total give you the sense that God has been guiding you in a particular direction. I have been on the road to where I am for almost 5 decades. My public communications (speech) instructor asked me as I finished my first speech if I was a Minister. That was many years ago. My ability to teach scriptures has been cultivated over years of teaching.
But no preaching call will be complete without the presence of the Holy Spirit. As in the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit enables us to do that which we cannot do on our own. In my case the unexpected call to preach was only successful in light of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
As I look back over the course of my life, I can see the hand of God moving me toward his intended call for me. It is because of this sense of a God given purpose that I can move forward. Based on the history of my life, the moving of the Holy Spirit in directing my life, I can say without hesitation that the call to the ministry of Preaching is my true vocation. May God be glorified, his people edified and Satan horrified.
