to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in

Why renewable energy is the future
- 1. Renewable Energy as the Way for Future Explained by Michael Anthony Sawyer The present world is that of alternative energy. To ensure development of world and betterment of environment, it is crucial to look for new alternate sources of producing power and electricity. The trend is for green energy. This kind of energy is produced with the negligible impact on the environment. Under these circumstances, the amount of damaging by-products produced during production of energy are negligible and sans environmental pollution due to lower levels of carbon emissions. Some of the most common green (renewable) energy includes wind, solar, geothermal, and hydro (water) energy. According to Michael Anthony Sawyer, owner of New Creation Consulting, and a highly successful businessman, shifts from a specific source of energy to various alternative sources are not a new trend. This has occurred many times in the past. In the past, depletion of primary fuel sources has resulted in shifts of energy sources such as from wood to soft coal. Another good example is that of whale oil to petroleum. “Today, the fear of depletion of power and energy has increased the demand of alternative energy” says Michael Anthony Sawyer. There are many other valid reasons for the same. Today, the prices for crude oil are experiencing consistent fluctuations. This has resulted in tremendous rise of gasoline prices. Demands for energy independence has made most companies drift their focus towards low cost, local, renewable, alternative energy sources such as wind, water, solar energy etc. Presently, the energy generated from the sun and wind holds small proportion of energy output in the United States. Gradually, it is moving towards the tipping point. One may blame it on the shooting prices of crude oil. Another reason for people to shift their preference towards renewable energy is attractive incentives from the government. Michael Anthony Sawyer believes that the renewable energy is certainly the future of many developed and developing countries across the globe. The trend is expected to enjoy consistent rise in the coming years.
