Al que maltrata hay que sacarle la tarjeta roja, parafraseando la famosa campaña publicitaria del gobierno central, donde el árbitro (que somos todos) le expulsa del terreno de juego al hombre que maltrata. Pero no tengamos duda, que este mismo agresor volverá al partido, saldrá de prisión, finalizarán las prohibiciones que tenía impuestas y después… nuevamente estará de vuelta al campo de juego, con la misma o con otra mujer, pero encontrando nuevamente a alguien a quien maltratar. Porque maltratar es su forma errónea de comunicar-se, porque el maltratador vive en una percepción fallida de los vínculos afectivos y porque quizás son más dependientes de la mujer de lo que ellos mismos jamás pudieran imaginar. Y esto no quiere decir que no defendemos con contundencia que no hay perdón, que la tolerancia tiene que ser cero, que no hay excusas ni valen falsos arrepentimientos. El maltrato a la mujer tiene unas consecuencias que han de recaer por entero y sin titubeos sobre la persona que lo ejerce.
