Neighborhoods are important geographic units for local context that are defined culturally by residents over time. Precise neighborhood boundary data from Maponics enhances local search and real estate applications by allowing users to search and compare properties at a hyper-local neighborhood level. Maponics neighborhood datasets include boundaries, attributes, and hierarchies for worldwide coverage, with ongoing updates to expand coverage.

1. Why developers of apps should look at what users want to do now, as well as what users want to do in their future.
2. Why social apps should try to mirror real–world relationships
3. Why sharing should be about who you share with as well as how long you want the information to be available.
4. Why developers should think about making apps "ambient” and require less user interaction

Location Privacy for Mobile Computing, Cylab Talk on Feb 2011Jason Hong
A talk I gave for Cylab in Feb 2011 on location privacy, summarizing some of my group's work in this area. I discuss some system architectures for location-based content (using pre-fetching and caching to manage privacy), why people use foursquare, and some empirical work on location sharing.
This paper discusses hyperlocal social media and its value for local communities. Hyperlocal social media refers to applications and services specifically designed to facilitate communication, collaboration, and connections among residents at the neighborhood level. The paper provides an overview of the rise of hyperlocal social media, analyzing key features and functions through several leading examples of hyperlocal apps. It also addresses the challenges faced by hyperlocal platforms in achieving widespread adoption. Overall, the paper aims to illustrate how technological innovation empowers grassroots civic engagement and revitalizes the concept of the village square in the digital era.

Improve site selection and network planning with Dynamic DemographicsPrecisely
COVID-19 has changed consumer behaviour. Where and how people work and shop has changed considerably since the pandemic began. Methods used previously to determine where to expand (or rationalize) your business may not be effective in today’s environment. Insight into human movement patterns, demographics and customer spend behaviour is essential when making key business decisions around site selection and network planning.
Watch this webinar recording to hear about a new solution for Australian businesses that combines human movement data sourced from mobile phones, with demographic data (such as age, gender, income, occupation, and spending behaviour) to help businesses understand:
· The feasibility of a new store, branch location or product offering mix
· The demographics of people in a location by time of day
· The movement patterns of your customers (where they come from, where they go, how long they spend there and where else they go)
· Opportunities to improve customer targeting and go-to-market planning (deliver the right message, in the right place, at the right time)

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.
