This document summarizes an analysis of watershed areas in Georgia that are most vulnerable to pollution and erosion. The analysis found that the Chattahoochee and Coosa River basins have the highest percentages of thin soils and most water quality monitoring sites, making them most vulnerable. Additionally, basins affected by the Appalachian Mountains like the Flint, Tennessee, and Coosa Rivers had the thinnest soils on average. While elevation data was not included, thinner soils in mountainous areas experience more runoff and pollution in watersheds.
