We Focus On The Details So You Can Focus On the Case®
Sometimes the trucks would end up spilling some of their goods into the ravine between her
home and the store because they didn’t plan for that sharp turn. Lisa understood what it meant
to plan properly, even at a young age.
***
After graduating from college, Lisa moved to Dallas in 1991. By 1994, Lisa was a single mom
responsible for three young children. She had a dual major with degrees in both performing arts
and journalism yet she had worked in college directing plays and worked locally directing theater
performances as a volunteer.
She took a job at a local Dallas advertising agency to support her family, but unfortunately, the
company made the decision to shutter its Dallas location in favor of establishing its headquarters
in Houston. Lisa declined to make the move to Houston because her roots were with her family in
Northwest Arkansas and Oklahoma.
The opportunity to attend a paralegal school program was presented to Lisa. Seizing the chance,
Lisa enrolled and ended up graduating at the top of her class, and after graduation, she secured a
logistics coordinator position at a top Dallas law firm. It wasn’t long before she was assigned to
oversee one of the largest telecom cases of its time (Samsung v. Alcatel, 1999)

Overview
Before there was Legal Concierge, Inc., there was Lisa
Cain and a set of circumstances than can only be
described as fortuitous looking back in time.
Lisa Cain was born in an Indian hospital in Tahlequah,
Oklahoma and spent her childhood in Bentonville,
Arkansas. Lisa’s family home was separated by a ravine
from a construction site that turned out to be the very
first Walmart store in the U.S. By virtue of its proximity to
the Walmart, Lisa began to take notice of the idea of
logistics. As a young girl, she’d spend hours watching the
delivery trucks come and go, navigating a sharp turn to
make their way into the loading dock.

We Focus On The Details So You Can Focus On the Case®
After the trials concluded, Lisa was offered the role to continue logistics for trade shows and
special events for the law firm. However, while fulfilling the responsibilities of her new position,
Lisa couldn’t shake her experiences from the Samsung trials. Having to live on such a tight budget
as a single mother made Lisa become creative and savvy. She wanted to apply the lessons she
learned in her personal life to her professional life too. Lisa knew there had to be a more
efficient, cost effective way to manage a case.
After some soul searching, Lisa wanted to find a way to use her skillset and her talents to
determine her own value in the workforce. She made the decision to leave the law firm.
However, she left with her experiences and observations that would prove to be the catalyst to
form her own business.
Real life intervened again when Lisa’s oldest son suffered a near fatal bout of asthma. Lisa
accepted contract paralegal positions to continue to make ends meet. By day she was a valuable
legal assistant, but by night Lisa began work on her business plan for what would become Legal
Concierge, Inc., now known nationwide as LCI. With her prior work experience combined with a
background in performing arts, she realized that her training had already prepared her for the
future. There were so many similarities in preparing a production for the stage and preparing a
team for trial.
As a result, Lisa made a critical decision to begin working from home to stay close to her children.
She immediately began knocking down walls in her home closet to create an office. Lisa
continued working out of her makeshift office space for eight years all the while striking a
balance between work and home life, up to and including a ban on television and radio so she
could maintain her focus.
What happened next is testament to Lisa’s tenacious work ethic. She was working on a contract
project for Blockbuster reviewing lease agreements when she received a call from Blockbuster’s
San Antonio counsel’s office asking for her assistance in what would become the Cleveland v.
Viacom litigation. Lisa was tasked with facilitating and maintaining 50 offices, six war rooms,
catering, transportation, infrastructure and even security.
With her career launched, Lisa moved forwards with LCI full time, and hasn’t looked back since.
Her mantra of “every client and every case is treated with the same level of importance” carries
on today.
