This document provides an overview of what students can expect to learn in French 101 based on the textbook Connexions 1. In the course, students will learn basic communication skills like greetings, introductions, expressing likes/dislikes, and talking about oneself. They will study present tense verbs and vocabulary including numbers, dates, addresses, the alphabet, sports, jobs and internet terms. Each chapter covers an introductory text, grammar and vocabulary practice, an email, pronunciation exercises, and French culture. Each chapter (Unité) of the book is divided into five segments:
1) Introductory document (letter, dialogue, news article, etc)
2) Grammar, vocabulary, and practice speaking
3) An E-mail (usually a quick, friendly note from a friend)
4) Phonetic/Pronunciation Activities
5) French culture
