Brand and Visual Identity is a topic that I am always passionate about. It is something that I live and breathe as a creative professional.
I’ve had the pleasure of managing and helping build the Brand and Visual Identity for both the Private Wealth and Asset Management LOBs within CIBC. Like most financial institutions and banks, there are multiple lines of businesses that are structured within. Each line of business at CIBC had their own visual sub-brand and architecture but still obviously tied to the CIBC master brand.
During CIBC’s major enterprise rebrand project - I was identified as the Brand lead representative for the Wealth LOB. A rebrand project committee team consisting of various LOB leads was formed in the planning and creation of the ‘Master Brand Guidelines”. We were nicknamed the “Project Tetris” team. A codename at the time in which the rebrand project was highly confidential.
As part of this ‘Project Tetris’ team, I partnered/consulted with members of the Enterprise Brand Governance team in building and creating the Brand guidelines for the Private Wealth and Asset Management businesses as you’ll see in the attached PDF.
I had to rely on my design team to submit some of our visual artwork that I then placed within the Brand Guidelines. Various marketing assets such as brochures, profile sheets, sales tools, signage, email communication templates, website screenshots, etc. were placed into the guidelines as visual examples.
In the following weeks after the successful creation of the Brand guidelines and visual identity - I have held multiple Brand presentation & training sessions with different departments on how to implement the new brand into their day-to-day work. Our design team subsequently became the primary ‘Brand Ambassadors’ aka brand consultants for the whole Wealth department.
