ABSTRACT : This study reveals that systemic corruption and other factors including poor leadership,
leadership recruitment processes, ethnic and regional politics, tribalism and mediocrity, poor planning, and
variation of project design have been the causative factors that undermine projects implementation in postindependence African states, particularly in Nigeria. The study, thus, argued that successive governments of
African states, using Nigeria as a case study, have been deeply engrossed in this obnoxious practice that has
undermined infrastructure sector development as well as enthroned impoverishment and mass poverty in these
African countries. This study, therefore, is posed to examine the similarities in causative factors, effects and
consequences of corruption and how it affects governance, projects implementation and national growth. To
achieve this, the study adopted historical research design which is qualitative and explorative in nature. The
study among others suggests that the governments of developing countries should shun corruption and other
forms of obnoxious practices in order to operate effective and efficient systems that promote good governance
and ensure there is adequate projects implementation which are the attributes of a responsible government and
good leadership. Policy makers should also prioritize policy objectives and competence to ensure that policies
are fully implemented within stipulated time frame.

Exploring Factors Affecting the Success of TVET-Industry Partnership: A Case ...AJHSSR Journal
ABSTRACT: The purpose of this study was to explore factors affecting the success of TVET-industry
partnerships. A case study design of the qualitative research method was used to achieve this objective. For the
study, one polytechnic college of Oromia regional state, and two industries were purposively selected. From the
sample polytechnic college and industries, a total of 17 sample respondents were selected. Out of 17
respondents, 10 respondents were selected using the snowball sampling method, and the rest 7 respondents were
selected using the purposive sampling technique. The qualitative data were collected through an in-depth
interview and document analysis. The data were analyzed using thematic approaches. The findings revealed that
TVET-industry partnerships were found weak. Lack of key stakeholder‟s awareness shortage of improved
training equipment and machines in polytechnic colleges, absence of trainee health insurance policy, lack of
incentive mechanisms for private industries, lack of employer industries involvement in designing and
developing occupational standards, and preparation of curriculum were some of the impediments of TVETindustry partnership. Based on the findings it was recommended that the Oromia TVET bureau in collaboration
with other relevant concerned regional authorities and TVET colleges, set new strategies for creating strong
awareness for industries, companies, and other relevant stakeholders on the purpose and advantages of
implementing successful TVET-industry partnership. Finally, the Oromia regional government in collaboration
with the TVET bureau needs to create policy-supported incentive strategies such as giving occasional privileges
of duty-free import, tax reduction, and regional government recognition awards based on the level of partnership
contribution to TVET institutions in promoting TVET-industry partnership.

ABSTRACT: This research aims to examine how ESG disclosure and risk disclosure affect the total risk of
companies. Using cross section data from 355 companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange, data regarding
ESG disclosure and risk was collected. In this research, ESG and risk disclosures are measured based on content
analysis using GRI 4 guidelines for ESG disclosures and COSO ERM for risk disclosures. Using multiple
regression, it is concluded that only risk disclosure can reduce the company's total risk, while ESG disclosure
cannot affect the company's total risk. This shows that only risk disclosure is relevant in determining a
company's total risk.

ABSTRACT: Although a significant amount of literature exists on Morocco's migration policies and their
successes and failures since their implementation in 2014, there is limited research on the integration of subSaharan African children into schools. This paperis part of a Ph.D. research project that aims to fill this gap. It
reports the main findings of a study conducted with migrant children enrolled in two public schools in Rabat,
Morocco, exploring how integration is defined by the children themselves and identifying the obstacles that they
have encountered thus far. The following paper uses an inductive approach and primarily focuses on the
relationships of children with their teachers and peers as a key aspect of integration for students with a migration
background. The study has led to several crucial findings. It emphasizes the significance of speaking Colloquial
Moroccan Arabic (Darija) and being part of a community for effective integration. Moreover, it reveals that the
use of Modern Standard Arabic as the language of instruction in schools is a source of frustration for students,
indicating the need for language policy reform. The study underlines the importanceof considering the
children‟s agency when being integrated into mainstream public schools.

3. Why Hammer films?
Hammer Films is a British Film company which distribute horror films in the UK. It was established in
1934.
We have chosen Hammer films as an distribution company as they distribute UK films which tend to be
smaller budgets like ours. This would benefit us over a large distribution company as our production is
small and the budget would not permit for a larger company like ‘working title’. An example of this is the
film “women in black” with a budget off 17 million whilst a working title film ‘Les mis’ had 61 million.
Also, another reason why we would choose hammer films is that they only produced/distributed films
that are horror. They have previously distributed films such as “Let me in” and “Women in black”. As
these films are Horror it would be effective if we chose this company as when our audience see the
‘Hammer films’ logo- they will immediately know it is a horror. This establishment sees that the audience
are already on edge when our opening sequence starts. This means that we are more likely to ‘frighten’
our audience which the aim of our horror film genre and a feeling which our target audience thrives
offwhich also demonstrates uses and gratification theory.
Additionally, this would be an ideal distribution company as films such as “women in black” did so well as
they starred a high profile actor – ‘ Daniel Radcliffe’. This means that the audience have already
established this company as a successful one with high production value. This serves the purpose of
increasing product awareness for our film as the mass audience who watched and were impressed by
‘women in black’ will also come and watch our films which means makes our product gross higher and it
targets a mass audience. This can be related to dyer star theory as Daniel Radcliffe has already endorsed
‘Hammer films’ so is seen as a credible company that his fans will now want to come and watch.
4. What methods of distribution would
we use?
The methods of distribution that we are going to use firstly is through the cinema. This is as we are targeting a
young mass audience so cinema is firstly easily accessible for them. This increases the chance that they will watch
our production. We will distribute through local independent cinemas due to this being more affordable than
multiplex cinemas.
Also, as our film is a Psychological Horror our young mass audience tend to go in big groups. This means that our
film will gross higher as we are appealing to a mass audience. Due to them going in big groups it also promotes
social interaction amongst them. This is beneficial as just by ‘word of mouth’ more people will come to see our
production. This is our best form of marketing as it is targeting our audience directly.
Moreover, will use more traditional methods of distribution to firstly increase brand awareness so our target
audience come to watch our production. These methods include:
• Available on Dvd and download on amazon which makes it easy accessible to my young target audience
(after cinema release over)
• Social Networks- we could create pages on various social media platforms for our film or simply an advert
one of these sites. This would be affective due to us using web 2.0 we are targeting a young audience
successfully (which is very internet orientated). This would be a successful form of advertising as it is good
way to increase brand awareness. Also our audience may feel like we are catering to their needs by
marketing on a platform that it so easily accessible to them.
• We will also have trailers and teasers on YouTube to entice our audience into buying or viewing our film at
the cinema
• We will also have app of our films which shows interviews, character profiles, games and key information
such as what cinemas it is released at and when dvd release is coming out. Also, this demonstrates
convergent media which targets our young mass audience as it is the most direct what of promoting our film.
5. What time of year would we distribute
our film?
• We are going to distribute our film during the summer months
(June/July/August). Firstly as most of our young target audience is
off school and looking for ways to keep busy such as the cinema.
Also this means they will have time to go to the cinema rather than
in school time where they may not get the chance. This increases
our chances of our production being successful and grossing highly.
• Psychological horror such as such as “sixth sense” where released in
November however do to our young demographic of target
audience- releasing our film in the summer months would be the
best way to promote our film and make it successful.
• We would have to compete with other blockbuster films which
usually release in the summer months however as our film may be
the only horror to be released this time of year it may make it more
succesful as no direct competition.

8. Certification of our production:
• Description of a 15 certificate: Any child under 15 is not allowed to see a
film at the cinema that is a 15 certificate. They are also not allowed to
buy/rent a ‘15’ rated DVD. This is because 15 rated films may contain
inappropriate language and scenes of which they aren’t permitted to
watch.
9. How our production meets the bbfc
criteria?
• How our film meets the BBFC criteria:
• The strong violence in our film:
• The strong violence scenes that we are going to include will be when Hunter kills his victims. We will show this through the
use of flashbacks.
• The flashbacks will be of the mother of the protagonist (Hunter) getting beaten up by the father however we will just imply
this.
• We will do this as the audience will see a POV long shot of the father going to hit the mother then as it is a POV shot the
violence will occur behind the door.
• We will then have ambient diegetic sound of the father hitting the mother.
• This will be acceptable as a 15 rated film as we are not showing the strong violence we are just indicating it to our target
audience.
• Also, the flashbacks we will use rhythmical editing to ambient fast pace music and quick cuts so that the scene ends quickly.
As the criteria says you should “not dwell on the infliction of pain or injury” which is not what we are going to do – the fast
pace editing means that the target audience will not see strong violence. Also in our violent scenes we are going to use
dark/dim lighting to make it harder to see the strong violence of the murders.
10. • Strong language:
• In our opening sequence we will have strong language, we will use the words ‘f***’, ‘p***y’,
‘b***s**t’ and ‘S**t’. This language will still pass as a 15 rated film as the BBFC states that “there is
no upper limit on the number of uses of strong language (eg f***)”. This means that strong
language can be said but in moderation and appreciation the 15 certificate. We will abide by this as
we are not planning on reinforcing the strong language and we are only going to do it for effect in
violent scenes. The first scene which we are going to use strong language is in the first scene where
Hunter says ‘s**t’ because he is experience pains in his head due to his alter personality coming
out. We used this to firstly emphasis the physical and mental pain he is going through in his head.
Secondly, we are using this word to demonstrate verisimilitude to the audience as our protagonist
is an adult and we want the audience to treat the issues of the disorder with seriousness. This will
make it more terrifying for the audience as this is a disorder that occurs in real life. However, this
will entertain the audience which demonstrates uses and gratification theory. We are going to use
the word ‘f***’ and ‘B***s**t and p***y’ in the scene where Hunters alter personality is coming
out and he strangles the drug dealer. These swear words are much stronger and we have done this
deliberately to make the drug dealer seem more ‘vile’ and ‘scum’ on the streets. This again adds
verisimilitude to our opening sequence.
11. • Sexual activity:
• This criteria from the BBFC is not applicable to our opening
sequence as we have no sexual
activity/implications/violence.
• Drugs:
• In our opening sequence we have a character who is a
drug dealer- however we are not going to dwell on the
audience seeing the character taking drugs. We are going
to show him taking the drugs in the background of an over
the shoulder shot of Hunter. The shot itself will be slightly
blurred and the target audience may even miss the shot.
Therefore, we are not encouraging drugs so will be
acceptable as a 15 rated film.
12. What have you learnt about
technologies from the process of
constructing this product?
I have learnt how to use final cut express as this is the editing software that we used to edit our
production.
On this editing software I learnt how to cut our clips down and put them together in order to
achieve continuity editing. However, we used this to create a sense of the past as we had a
flashback scenewhich creates a non- linear narrative. We did this by using dip to colour transition.
We established that our scene was a flashback by using a ‘dip to colour’ transition at the beginning
and end to connote something from the past. Our POV shot helped to connote it was a flack back
and who’s perspective it was from. These transitions helped our production to run seamlessly and
look more polished. This meant that we could convey our message more clearly to the audience as
it increased our production value.
Another editing technique which we developed was colour correcting some of our shots that came
out with a strong orange tint to them. We added blue tones to the shot to cancel this out. This made
our production to look more ‘professional’. Thus making it appeal to a mass audience as it is more
flawlessly put together.
Additionally, we had problems with the audio of different clips being put together. We overcame
this by putting in ‘audio transitions’. This served the purpose of not having an obvious change in
(audio which would have decreased our production value) and instead having a seamless transition.
13. Filming skills:
When filming I developed by awareness of what shot we where using to connote our
message.
This was portrayed in the first scenes of Hunter getting ready- we decides to use a low
angle shot of him to represent him as superior and the audience to feel ‘intimidated’.
Also, this represented his authority – especially his importance in his job.
Another skill I developed was being able to pan the camera around smoothly to make
our shot look more professional and seamless. We achieved this by using a dolly which
meant which could ‘wheel’ the camera round on a tripod to achieve the ‘professional’’
look. Thus increasing product awareness.
To put our footage into final cut we first imported them into imovie and exported into
final cut.
We also learnt how to use live type to do our title sequence. We then exported and
inserted this onto our sequence in final cut.
We also learnt how to use garage band to create a soundtrack. We combined one that
we made and sounds already on garage band. We then exported this and put in the
back of our filming sequence.
