What is a DTU?
DTU is the abbreviation of Data Terminal Unit (DTU). In a broader sense, the module unit
responsible for sending data information at both ends of the transmission link is called DTU,

DTU connects terminal equipment through the interface to obtain data, and then wirelessly
transmits it through the operator's network (2G/3G/4G) to the designated data center or

What is a DTU product type?

to their application scenarios; by interface type, DTU generally supports RS485, RS232, I/O, and

DTU has been widely used in electric power, water conservancy, environmental protection,

applications.
What is the role of 4G DTU?
The biggest role of 4G DTU is to realize the wireless transmission of data, transmitting data from
the front-end to the back-end without loss, and realizing the remote query and control of
equipment and data.
Using the lossless transmission function of 4G DTU, it can be applied in power distribution
automation to realize the collection and monitoring of power grid data, real-time monitoring of
line voltage, line current, zero sequence current, equipment status, and other operation and fault
information, data collection, monitoring and control, control center and distribution dispatch
automation system (SCADA) communication.
DTU can be used to realize real-time monitoring of distribution data, improve the reliability and
quality of power supply, shorten accident processing time, reduce the scope of a power outage,
improve the economy of distribution system operation, and reduce operation and maintenance
costs.
The use of 4GDTU can maximize the economic benefits of enterprises, improve the management

4G DTU is equipped with multiple interfaces, supporting I/O, ADC, TTL/RS-232/RS-485 interfaces

data management function of the terminal but also can forward the data of power meters, PLC
and DC screen in the distribution room or opening/closing station externally. It can communicate
with the main station system through a standard unified interface to complete data transmission.
4G DTU Technology deployment
The 4G DTU wireless terminal is connected to the primary circuit, secondary circuit, switchgear,
load switches, transformers, relays, contactors, and other equipment of the intelligent ring
network cabinet, so that the staff of the monitoring center can view the operation status of each
equipment in real-time and determine the fault point and send technical personnel immediately
if there is any equipment failure.
4G DTU realizes real-time data collection and control function of distribution network, etc. It
collects real-time status and transmits it to the main station, and sends various control
information to the collection terminal at the main station to realize the remote control function.
4G DTU distribution terminal meets the requirements of data transmission and also realizes the
function of data storage and recording, which successfully solves the problem of compatible
coexistence of measurement and control, protection and communication, and achieves the
