The hairy-eared dwarf lemur is a small primate found in northeastern Madagascar, measuring 5.31 inches long and weighing up to a quarter of a pound, with brownish gray fur and a reddish brown tail. It lives in trees in the lowland rainforest, sleeping in tree holes, but is threatened by locals who sometimes trap and eat them or cut down their habitat for houses. Conservation efforts aim to protect the lemur's remaining habitat and help their monogamous social structure, where males and females remain together and females typically give birth to a single young.
