For our preliminary task we used an old Sony video camera
which didn’t really compliment our piece is any way.
However for our final sequence we used HD cameras which
really came as a bonus to us when we film Oli on the
skateboarded and when they both crash into each other.
The shots were crisper and a lot more smooth and clear.

From what we learnt about the sound kit at the start of
the year we could put to even better use than our
preliminary in our final piece.
When filming we used the boom pole and microphone but as
it was so windy we had to use the muffler to cancel it
out.
In our preliminary task we filmed in a small room with
one window which gave us poor lighting, however filming
our main task was outside with natural lighting which
gave us a better affect.

Tumblr helped us to keep on track, it kept all
our work in order especially our research. We
were able top present it on here in many ways.
Also it meant we could embed things such as
link, pictures and video/YouTube clips
YouTube also helped us with research and to
look into things like different effects and
styles of films. At the end we could then
compare them to ours.

Premiere Pro is the software we used to edit our
sequence. This gave us a brilliant outcome and made our
piece smooth and professional.
To make it smooth we used transition effects using a
cross fade when showing the action and fade to black
when it had finished so there was no sudden ending.
Over our piece we had a soundtrack which gave such an
upbeat feel to our film, this was a friends piece of
music that they had created, after adding this we made
sure we could still hear the sound of the skateboard and
one line of speech as well so it wasn’t too intense. We
also used L-cuts and J-cuts to make it run smoothly and
professional.

We used After Effects to design our film titles in every
detail, the colour, shape/front, timings etc.
We also used it to create our production teams name. We
took professional productions like MGM and made them our
own as shown on the next slide.
