2. TARGET AUDIENCE
For our music video we targeted a specific audience from looking at the
demographics of existing products that we wanted to make ours similar to, such as
Serotonin by Mystery Jets. From this we deciphered that the main target age would
be from 16-24 with a mix of gender. From the table below it can be noted that most
viewers were from the UK, arguably because the artist was. We realised that
needed to create a product that appealed to teenagers, and hopefully to gain further
success, appeal to those outside of the UK but how exactly to do this was a
challenge itself.

4. RESULTS
We conducted an audience feedback session in class which enabled us to receive
comments and constructive criticism.
Unfortunately not all of our audience feedback was filmed, but an example of what we
asked can be seen below this presentation. Basic information was later inputted
into graph form (as seen previously) for the rest of the members of the audience
whom we interviewed. I found this discussion method of audience feedback very
useful, but in order to make it more effective next time I would use a written
questionnaire as it gives the person more time to think and not answer under
pressure. However, the relaxed approach of talking to people evoked in depth
comments that would otherwise not be revealed as a questionnaire can be quite
limiting. In hindsight I should have conducted both forms to get even better
responses.

5. POSITIVE COMMENTS RECEIVED;
“great location”
“good use of camera shots”
“jump cuts that create a chaotic effect”
“professional looking make-
up/clothing”

6. TO LEARN FROM;
“lip syncing was out of time at points”
“appreciate that the narrative was non-
linear but it was unclear”
“could have included more diverse
shots”
“slow motion looked a bit too slow”

7. DIGIPAK FEEDBACK
For the Digipak feedback I posted on
my personal tumblr and got opinions
from those wholly uninvolved in the
project or even in my class as to gain
a fresh outlook.
From the feedback received I noted
that the front cover needed to be
altered as people weren’t as keen on
it, so with that information in mind I
adapted it.
Tumblr wasn’t the best method of
gaining feedback because not many
people saw the post but it still
provided some comments which a
wider audience (in class) also agreed
with.

8. CONCLUSION
To conclude, the audience feedback I received has been mixed but really
useful in seeing where we went right as well as where we went
wrong, and also it offered a new perspective on things which we had
not noticed before, such as the narrative being unclear at points. The
feedback made me realise that when you are the creator of a product it
is easy to become complacent in your aims and forget that the audience
have to understand what you’re trying to achieve, as they won’t always
have someone there to explain.
Some things were out of our control, regrettably. At last minute some
footage was lost and so that’s why out of sync footage had to be used
for a small fraction. On reflection this was down to time management.
