Why do whalers kill whales? Whalers kill whales for their meat and oil, because they use oil to light their candles and they also ate whale meat.
What were the tools they used for whaling? One of the main tools was the harpoon, it had a large metal arrow, and a strong rope attached to the launcher and the other end of the rope was attached to the arrow.
Does whaling still exist?  Whaling ended in 1964 since it was no longer economic.
Whaling Facts The Maori mostly ate stranded whales Seven out of thirteen great whale species are endangered. One blue whale could fill 120 barrels of oil.
