While working in a cor-
porate office, LeAnn Ebers-
viller often dealt with
headaches. She tried dif-
ferent treatments but mas-
sages helped her the most.
Then she tried a family
aqua massage bed, and she
was so hooked she want-
ed other people to have a
chance at it.
Ebersviller is now
approaching her ninth year
of business owning Aqua-
blue, a variety store which
sells bath products, jew-
elry, scented products and
more to go with aqua mas-
sage booths. As Ebersviller
put it, Aquablue is in the
relaxation business.
“People that come in
here, they’re going to leave
here happier and in a bet-
ter mood,” Ebersviller said.
“So that helps having peo-
ple leave here who are hap-
pier.”
Associate Shari Murray
started her job just a few
weeks ago but had been
going to Aquablue for mas-
sages for years. Especially
for this time of year, Mur-
ray said Aquablue is a place
to find a unique gift.
She saw in a newslet-
ter that Aquablue was
looking for help, and she
thought free aqua massag-
es — which make her feel
refreshed — would be a
great perk. But Murray said
it’s a nice place to work
for as well because of the
emphasis on customer care.
“It’s just good for your
overall — mental, physi-
cal, emotional — health,”
Murray said. “The shop
atmosphere is just a friend-
ly, unique place to go find
that out-of-ordinary gift.”
Ebersviller, who has a
masters degree in business
and administration from
Minnesota State Moor-
head, said she’s long had
a craving to start her own
business. As she found out,
Aquablue serves as variety store, relaxation spot
academics is different than
the real life application.
She is currently navigating
the world of social media
and advertising.
“It’s pretty stressful,
but I was able to work on
the business side of things
and work with the num-
bers but also be creative in
the marketing and adver-
tising,” Ebersviller said. “I
really enjoy it because it
really allows me to express
both sides of my person-
ality.”
Aquablue offers a vari-
ety of programs with aqua
massages, including dif-
ferent pressures, intensi-
ties and body-part con-
centrations. The whole
point, Murray said, is to
inhibit relaxation — also
the theme of the store.
“I’m not really one that
likes people to touch me,”
Murray said, “so to have
the benefit of a massage
without that part of it is
very enjoyable to help the
stress.”
Ebersviller, who’s lived
in West Fargo for 15 years,
said she enjoys her store’s
location because it’s a
rapidly growing part of
town. Though she plans to
expand the store to loca-
tions that focus on aqua
massage in Fargo and
Moorhead, Aquablue’s
West Fargo location is near
residential areas, which
gives a more at-home feel.
“People have to come
in here to make it click,”
Ebersviller said. “It’s all
about helping people relax,
being inspired and living a
more relaxing life.”
Ebersviller said Christ-
mas is one of the busiest
times of the year, but she’s
still working on ways to
grow the business. She’s
worked on massage ben-
efit plans for businesses
to bring in their employ-
ees. Aquablue also has
life classes intended to
build people’s confidence
including ways to say no
to people and not apolo-
gizing excessively.
Since Murray had been
going to Aquablue before
its move to the West Fargo
location three years ago,
she’s seen a steady uptick
in business.
“It’s very upbeat and
positive to work there,”
Murray said. “It’s relax-
ing. It’s a second job for
me, not that I even wanted
a second job, but the ben-
efit of the aqua massage

and that aspect of it, it’s
so fun. It’s a great place to
work.”
Ebersviller said first-
time customers often
seem surprised by the
atmosphere when they
first walk in Aquablue.
Ebersviller said that’s
because they can expect to
walk out with something
special.
“There’s always some-
thing new,” Ebersviller
said. “It’s never stale. It’s
fun to have people come in
and get the benefits of the
massage. Helping people
never gets old.”

The metro will get a
fifth Papa Murphy’s
store, but customers can
expect a different look
at the newest location of
this take-and-bake pizza
place.
The new store at 3985
56th St. S. in Fargo will
feature the Washing-
ton-based company’s
revamped “DESIGN”
look with different floor-
ing and wall coverings, a
new color scheme and a
changed counter design.
Lynn Synhorst, who
owns the community’s
Papa Murphy’s locations
with her sister, Dawn
Hebert, said some of the
changes are meant to
show what happens in the
kitchen. For example, the
dough mixer will now be
visible behind the count-
er instead of in the back
kitchen.
“It’s just to show that
we make our dough fresh
every day and it’s not
shipped in,” she said.
The new design also
replaces a straight order-
ing line with a counter
that angles out with cash
registers on each end, one
for walk-in customers
and the other for those
who order in advance
online or by phone.
The store will open
Thursday, Dec. 29, just
two days after the 19th
anniversary of Synhorst
and Hebert opening their
first Papa Murphy’s in
Fargo.
It will be the first busi-
ness to open in the new
Veterans Square devel-
opment on the northeast
corner of 40th Avenue
South and Veterans Bou-
levard. It also will be the
brand’s most southern
and western store in the
community. The new Papa
Murphy’s will be open 9
a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday to
New look for 5th Papa Murphy’s
Thursday and 9 a.m. to
9:30 p.m. Friday and Sat-
urday. The store phone
number is (701) 532-0611.
