14. ____________ Nominated for Supported Worker Award ___________ has been nominated by Colleen O’Reilly, Vocational P.C., for the 2007 Oklahoma Association for Persons in Supported Employment (OKAPSE) Supported Worker Award. ___________ has been employed by Albertson’s (now Homeland) in Muskogee, OK, for almost 10 months, starting as a Customer Service Representative. He was excited by this opportunity to make a new beginning and incorporate more change into his life. ___________ had been working in the fast food industry for several years and had been wanting the chance to work in the grocery business instead. After being hired at Albertson’s he worked for about four months with a job coach. Then with the help of the program he as was able to transition into a stable and reliable employee. Now ___________ has been able to build great relationships and natural supports at the store. The management “really thinks the world of ___________,” states Colleen in her nomination letter. “He has received two raises and they have added new responsibilities to his job description. He is now ordering the store’s ‘front supplies.’” ___________’s success at Albertson’s is an excellent example of how a consumer’s placement in the right job with the right people allows them to grow and gain confidence in themselves.
