The Velvet Rope - making user experience accessibleHenny Swan
There is little use in compliance with accessibility standards if your audience is unable to use your product. Accessibility is not just about meeting the standards. It’s not just a developer’s sport. Or an exercise in quality assurance. It’s about equivalent user experience for people with different abilities. How we get there can be as innovative and creative as you want as long as the principles of accessible user experience are honoured.

With increasing number of organisations that are presenting app offerings, the app space is indeed getting crowded along with blurring lines of differentiation for the users. How does one make a call for balancing native device capacity with restrictions by platform and what impact does this hold for creativity as well skill sets in the developer community? We intend to provide an insight gained during our journey, comparing and contrasting the vastly underrated area of web app development and the increasingly deeper hooks they are providing to native apps within our goals of engaging those already in the museum and more importantly ;bringing the museum to visitors who are on the outside.

Is Baidu a copycat? Robin Li explains the biggest difference between Baidu an...Mohamed Mahdy
Robin Li, the founder and CEO of Baidu, explains two key differences between Baidu and Google. In the early PC search era, Baidu focused on user-generated content through forums and wikis, while Google mostly indexed existing web content. In the current mobile era, Baidu aims to directly connect users to services through search, like buying movie tickets, while Google focuses more on indexing information. Li believes meeting users' actual needs, not just providing information, is important for search in China.
