2. Silicon Valley Innovation Model
Silicon Valley rewards a level of radical thinking and risk taking many other places simply won't
tolerate. Failure is okay in Silicon Valley because you can fail and it doesn't kill your career. In fact,
it’s accepted that it takes multiple attempts to be successful, and thus founders are often
respected simply for taking big swings. Silicon Valley eschews a “pay your dues” culture — no
matter what age you are if you have great skills and ideas why can’t you build the next big thing?
Paraphrasing Steve Jobs: Every tech product you’ve ever used has been created by people who
are no smarter than you. So there’s this pervasive idea that if you’re talented and work hard
enough, no matter where you come from or how old you are, you can create products and
companies just as good as the ones everybody knows and loves today.

3. On a recent investor call, Upwork Inc. Chief Executive Hayden Brown, citing a September 2020
survey, said: “A new type of career path has emerged, with half of the Gen Z [age 18 to 22] talent
pool actually choosing to start their careers in freelance rather than full-time employment.”
Based on a summer 2021 survey, Upwork concluded that 20% of people working remotely during
the pandemic were considering leaving their jobs for freelance work.
At LinkedIn, the number of members who indicate they are self-employed by listing services from
a field called “Open to Business” has quadrupled since the pandemic began, to 2.2 million, the
company said. Nearly half of the new entrepreneurs have a college degree and nearly 4 in 10 a
postgraduate degree.

14. The web3 Sea Calls To Us All: Everyone in the PIRATEVERSE is welcome on the web3 seas regardless of age, gender, race, sexuality, nationality or creed. We are all born
equal, we shall honor nature’s will in our community too.
United we work, United we conquer: Unity among us Pirates is the strongest trait every member shall possess. Every step we take henceforth towards conquering the seas
shall be with our pirates as ONE. Outside the heat of battle or piracy on the high seas, all crews shall bond together as a community of like-minded souls.
Power of Equality: All Crewmates Are Equal. Let each crewmate in a ship/across many ships be respected as equal and free to follow their own bearing, speak openly and
vote in affairs of the voyage. The sea treats everyone equally & hardens us all, lets follow heed & equalize each other.
The Sacred Bond: Every Crew’s Bond Is Sacred. Do not, under any circumstance even think of compromising the sacred bond. Allow yourself to be one with the community.
Those who betray their crew and ship by any means shall be sent to the brig (removed from the community).
Don’t bite the hand that feeds you: Be Smart - Don’t Steal from Pirates. Pirates are inherently smart. We try to figure out all sorts of ways to yield us the best most
profitable results, but one golden rule we must abide by? Don’t steal from a fellow pirate, EVER! Remember our sacred bond, remember our unity. Adhere to the bond,
follow the code & everything else shall fall in place.
Battle Ready, Always: A Pirate is always up & ready to go work / enter a battlefield. Make sure you are ready for the next big bounty that comes your way in the Pirateverse!
Stand Strong, Stand-by: A True Pirate’s character is determined by their actions at the time of war / battle. Stand with your crew during the toughest of times, stay strong &
weather through the battle. That grit & determination is what true pirates are made of.
The Old shall yield in the New: All new pirates coming in shall be respected, treated amicably & pushed to be the best they can be. Respect New Pirates and Their Voyage
Ahead. May the old legends help to forge new ones: treat new pirates with respect and share your knowledge.
Betrayal shall carry a hefty price for the betrayer: Those Who Cheat the code Shall Be Punished. Pirates who show bad form and cheat their crew or others shall surely
face bitter hardships and punishments.
Never Bring your Date onboard: No pirate shall be allowed to bring any act/suggestion/sentiment of sexual misconduct amongst their fellow pirates. Any indication of so
would lead to an immediate expulsion from the Mothership.
