Clear Sky Children's Charity provides play and creative arts therapy to children struggling with trauma. They have created a framework called the "Institute for Play and Attachment for Schools" to help schools support children with attachment and mental health issues. The framework provides online training, resources, and strategies for teachers to help these children enjoy school. Clear Sky aims to empower teachers and ensure children's emotional well-being.

Clear Sky Children’s Charity provides
age appropriate Play and Creative
Arts therapy to children who are
struggling due to trauma such as:
Bereavement
Family breakdown
Bullying
Domestic abuse
10% of children and young people
have a clinically diagnosable mental
health problem
That’s nearly 3 children in every
classroom

Clear Sky is on a mission to support schools,
parents, carers and other professionals to care
for vulnerable children
Congratulations! Your school is now working
towards being an Emotionally Healthy School!

4. What’s an
Emotionally Healthy
School?
Clear Sky have created a framework to help
you to support those children in your school
who have compromised attachment, and
those who have suffered adverse childhood
experiences
We aim to support you to help these children
to love life and enjoy school!

5. What is in the
framework?
Your school has appointed Designated
Leads who will walk you through our
framework containing online CPD modules
and will give you access to resources,
strategies and materials to help you in the
classroom!
We also want to support your wellbeing and
development!

6. What work do we
need to do?
Your SLT and Designated Emotional
Health Leads will assess your
Emotional Health needs as a whole
school
You’ll be able to participate in an online
CPD workshop over the next few
weeks and will learn more about
Trauma and Attachment
We’ll be giving you tools, assemblies
and ideas for you to use with the
children in your care over the course of
the year

7. What are we hoping
to achieve?
We want your school to feel
empowered and confident to deal with
challenges and difficulties you face
when supporting children.
We want to support you to work
effectively with children with emotional
health needs when we can’t provide
specialist therapeutic help
We want you to feel happy and safe in
your job!

Your Designated Lead will be your first port of call, but we
want to hear from you too!
We have a dedicated Facebook Group where you can contact
us for support at ‘Emotionally Healthy Schools’
We’d also love you to share ideas, stories and questions in the
group with other teachers!
