2. Background
• Quezon City recognizes the need for a health information system as a
tool in disease tracking and became an exception.

3. Vision
• More People-Responsive Health Care.

4. History
• Launch on September 12, 2011.
• National Government’s Five-Year Philippine Digital Strategy (PDS)
2011-2016.
• City Ordinance No. SP-2070.

5. CHITS
• First ever electronic medical record system for Philippine health
centers.
• Aggregate relevant health information from 6 health districts, 7 lying-
in clinics, 3 social hygiene clinics and 63 health centers.
• Data management, report generation and inventory system are
centralized.
• PhilHealth module which monitors health services rendered to its
members and dependents.
• Build capacities of the government health staff.

6. Big Data
• The Quezon City Local Government Unit is enhancing its CHITS to
integrate to hospitals, PhilHealth and Department of Health.
Information gathered from the city health centers will be shared to
the mentioned institutions and agencies for better health services to
the constituents of the city.
