Globalization involves the increasing integration and interchange of ideas, products, and cultures across international borders. It occurs through both economic and cultural processes like multinational corporations operating globally and the spread of cultural products. The documentary film "The Big Sell Out" examines how globalization and privatization have negatively impacted people's lives by selling off public services. It depicts the losses people face and the emergence of conflict as survival becomes difficult. Coloniality refers to the domination and exploitation that persists after colonialism formally ends, influencing economic and social structures. It is distinguished from colonialism which involves the direct political control of other countries.

1. WHAT IS
GLOBALIZATION?
Globalization in its essential form is the process of international
integration arising from the interchange of worldviews, products, ideas,
and other aspects of culture.Yet as the boundaries are diminishing,
globalization is marking the beginning of more communication, splendid
diversity and a broader picture in every sphere of life (Beck, 2000).
There are various kinds of globalization . Some major forms of
globalization include enhancement of business, culture and technology
across borders. It communizes international chains through MNC’S like
Mc Donald's, Nokia, Coca cola etc.

2. THE BIG SELL OUT-
Case Study
The big sell out is a film based on the changes in the
economic world affecting the lives of two people in very
different scenarios and setups.The film tells about the
effects of privatizations and the politics on the lives of
citizens when essentials to survive like gas water electricity
public services are sold out in all places across the world.The
film explains a scenario where globalized worlds had made
things worse off for everyone in every walk of life like the
mother fighting for money for the son on dialysis or the
union activist fighting in a rundown industry.The depiction
is the loss incurred due to privatization in the name of
globalization and how survival of the fittest had become the
mentality. People were standing up against the common
enemy.The big sell out outlines the cons of globalization
and victimization of people.The story line also talks about a
water war marking the first war for water ever.

3. Coloniality, Transmodernity &
Border thinking:
In retrospect toTransmodernity, border thinking, and global coloniality.
Global coloniality as a power for the modern colonial world in the power
matrix defines the principle involving the exploitation and domination
exercised in various dimensions of social life, from economic, sexual, or
gender relations, to the formation of political organizations, structures
of knowledge, state institutions which functions the economy.
According to my point of view countries which actively colonize
other countries , they have weaker cultures which can be eroded and
infiltrated.

4. Coloniality andTransmodernity are two sides
of a coin. Coloniality does not lead to
modernity. It is not colonialism. For example,
the Industrial revolution in Europe leads
to various forms of institutions of modernity
due to interaction with non western people
like colonies in the subcontinent.
During the centuries when
colonization was at its peak after
the French revolution and
Industrial revolution, countries like
France, USA, Russia and Europe
colonized Africa, China ,Asia and
most importantly the Indian Sub
Continent.

5. Colonialilty and
Colonism
The mere difference between colonialism and coloniality is that coloniality
is the form of domination after the colonialism has ended. Coloniality is used
to express the domination suppressing on states and violation of their
Sovereignty. It is the economic oppression and exploitation of racial or ethnic
groups by other dominant racial/ethnic groups existing in the world (Etienne
and Leacock, 1980).
I believe that colonialism has thus been directly related to international division of
labor of western and non western labor market. While transmodernity breaks down
the gap between elitism and the masses and bridges the gap between them.
