 iACADEMY was established in 2002 under the
guidance of Eusebio H. Tanco, Washington
Z. Sycip, and a group of board members
recognized as experts in the fields of business
and education. These distinguished men and
women wanted to bridge a gap in the country’s
educational system: the mismatch between
graduates of academic institutions and the
needs of the industry. To address the
problem, iACADEMY’s founders envisioned a
school that produces graduates that possess
not just a diploma, but the skills and training
that will prepare them well for the future.
IACADEMY HISTORY & ACHIEVEMENTS
 Located along Ayala Avenue
in Makati City, iACADEMY has grown since it opened its
doors a decade ago. Its first course offerings
included BSBA e-Management, BSCS Software
Engineering, BSCS Network Engineering, and BSIT Digital
Arts—courses designed to develop the technical and
creative skills of its students.
 For the succeeding school years, iACADEMY‟s student
population increased and its curriculum was enhanced.
From the initial batch of 72 enrollees, the College now
has nearly 1,000 students. In June 2003, the College
teamed up with IBM Philippines for its computer science
and information technology program. In 2005, the
program was granted recognition, with zero deficiency, by
the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

students. In June 2003, the College teamed up with IBM

program. In 2005, the program was granted recognition, with
zero deficiency, by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED ).
 To answer the changing imperatives of business and economy,
new courses were offered like BS Entrepreneurship
(2003),BSBA Marketing and Advertising (2004), BSBA Operations
Management (2006), BS Fashion Design and Technology (2011),
AB in Multimedia Arts and Design (2011). Plus, in line with its
innovative roots, the iACADEMY was the first and
remains the0only school in the country to offer two cutting-edge
courses: BS Animation (2007) and BS Game Development and
Programming (2011).
 iACADEMY has also forged strong bonds with respected
entities in different industries. In 2009, WACOM, the world‟s
leading manufacturer of digital interface solutions as well as
interactive pen displays and tablets
became iACADEMY‟s training partner. With this
relationship, iACADEMY‟s animation and multimedia programs
have been tremendously enhanced. The College‟s educational
services are now at par with prestigious international colleges
and universities. In 2010, iACADEMYwas appointed as the first
IBM Software Center of Excellence in the ASEAN Region and
the first Lotus Academic Institute. As such, the College has
proved to be one of the best training grounds for future IBM
professionals, proof positive thatiACADEMY‟s curriculum is
strong and competitive.
 In 2011, just a few months after iACADEMY opened its BS
Fashion Design and Technology program, it was chosen by
Solar Entertainment Corporation to be the official partner-
school and workspace of the Project Runway Philippines
(Season 3), the popular reality TV show that has produced
some of the country‟s finest and fast-rising fashion designers.
 Aside from quality instruction from iACADEMY faculty, the
College boasts of state-of-the-art facilities, backed by the top-
of-the-line equipment and software to help students maximize
their schooling. Academic learning takes place mostly in
classrooms, while computer laboratories provide students
with simulations of workplace set-ups. Student meetings,
general assemblies, and other related events and activities
are held in conference rooms and other offices
 It all started when four visionaries conceptualized setting up a
training center to fill very specific manpower needs.
 It was in the early „80s when Augusto C. Lagman, Herman T.
Gamboa, Benjamin A. Santos, and Edgar H. Sarte — four
entrepreneurs came together to set up Systems Technology
Institute (STI), a training center that delivers basic
programming education to professionals and students who
want to learn this new skill.
 Systems Technology Institute‟s name came from countless
brainstorming sessions among the founders, perhaps from
Sarte‟s penchant for three-letter acronyms from the
companies he managed at the time.
STI COLLEGE HISTORY & ACHIEVEMENTS
 The first two schools were inaugurated in August 21, 1983 in
Buendia, Makati and in España, Manila, and offered basic
computer programming courses. With a unique and superior
product on their hands, it was not difficult to expand the
franchise through the founders‟ business contacts. A year
after the first two schools opened, the franchise grew to
include STI Binondo, Cubao, and Taft.
 A unique value proposition spelled the difference for the STI
brand then: “First We‟ll Teach You, Then We‟ll Hire You.”
Through its unique Guaranteed Hire Program (GHP), all
qualified graduates were offered jobs by one of the founders‟
companies, or through their contacts in the industry.
 The schools‟ 1st batch of graduates, all 11 of them, were
hired by Systems Resources Incorporated. And through GHP,
more qualified STI graduates found themselves working in
their field of interest straight out of school.
 No one among the four founders imagined that the Systems
Technology Institute would become a college, or would grow to
have over 100 schools across the country. But it did, all
because of its unique value proposition, the synergy between
the founders and their personnel, and the management‟s
faithfulness to quality.
 A long way since its birth, STI‟s thrust has permeated right
into the core of the globally competitive market — it has
transcended beyond ICT and beyond education, addressing the
need for job-ready graduates.
 Informatics Philippines, established in 1994, is a multinational corporation
committed to provide quality training and education in Information and
Communications Technology to Filipinos. Informatics has more than 30
centres operating nationwide providing lifelong learning courses on
Corporate Productivity, Business Solutions and Higher Education from
undergraduate to postgraduate degree completions.
 Globally, Informatics has won many awards including the Singapore Brand
Awards 2002 and 2003, the Singapore Quality Class for Private Education
Organizations (SQC for PEO) as well as People Developer Standards Award.
 Informatics Philippines is part of a network of training and education
companies that operates in over 50 countries spanning Asia, Europe, Africa
and South America. Informatics Group is listed on the mainboard of the
Stock Exchange of Singapore.
 The Company has won many awards including the 12th Asia-Pacific
Excellence Awards (2005), the National Consumers Council (2001, 2002
and 2004), the National Consumers Quality Awards as Outstanding
Computer School.
