In today's world of ever-changing consumer tastes and preferences, retailers need to keep up and cater to changing trends. The presentation talks about using technology for interactive marketing, analyzing consumer behaviour, and transforming-customer experiences.
How can we get more out of our CRM investments? What are the value drivers behind? How can we use CRM to collaborate, sell, grow? In this Bluepaper, we will provide some food for thought on the above questions. And highlight some of the strategic directions CRM will take by the year 2020.
Major Disruption! (Report)
Cloud computing is disrupting more than our technological norms. It is also creating new business models and new ways of working together.
KEY MESSAGES
• Cloud computing is disrupting more than our technological norms. It is completely transforming the way businesses interact, people collaborate, and business models are designed.
• Both within and outside the IT sector, companies are capitalising on the changing landscape by using and offering cloud services. This allows them to meet customer expectations, operate in a more agile fashion,
and develop new revenue streams.
• As a result of these changes, companies are becoming both consumers and providers, sometimes simultaneously.
• New business models and changing customer expectations will lead to increased competition and declining revenue and profit opportunities
unless companies proactively change—and continue to change—their understanding of the market and their role in it.
• Survival—not to mention profitability and long-term viability—depends on a company's ability to transform its business models and go-to-market structures.
• Unfortunately, the majority of companies continue to pursue their traditional approaches, failing to satisfy customers and therefore missing out on revenue opportunities.

Combining Digital Media and Customer Interactions for “Connected CRM”SFIMA

Marketing over the years has evolved from the “age of brand,” with the advent of television in the 1950s; to the “age of channel,” with the development of e-commerce in the 1990s; to today’s “age of the customer,” fueled by empowered consumers who have countless tools at their fingertips to help them make decisions. The most important factor affecting the way we market to consumers today is the digitalization of media and channels – and the resulting proliferation of customer touchpoints. Key to the success of any customer-centric marketing strategy is the ability to integrate the online and offline data from these interactions in an effective manner to optimize the customer experience and create greater customer value.
David Williams discusses how organizations can gain sustainable competitive advantage through building customer strategy as a business strategy. The concept of connected CRM represents a systematic way to identify, serve and retain high-value customers better than competitors by delivering customer interactions that improve financial results, create competitive advantage and drive shareholder value.
In this session, Williams introduces the skills necessary to implement a connected CRM strategy, which is built upon an organizational commitment to customer-centricity. The integration of these skills enables marketing strategies that maximize the value of the customer portfolio.
David is a frequent contributor to the Forbes Magazine blog, and has served on the Direct Marketing Association board of directors. In addition Mr. Williams is the president and CEO of Merkle Inc.
Nearly every outlet of a marketing program converges on a mobile device. Think about it. From Facebook and Twitter to email and apps, many of your consumer/brand interactions happen via mobile. Mobile marketing strategy is likely on your list of things to improve this year or you wouldn't be reading this. But don't worry - we have answers and best practices to share for all your mobile quandaries.

You no longer have a website, you have a marketing cloud.
In 2004 you had a website. In 2014, you have a marketing cloud. You interact with your customers across various channels and device types, and rely on hundreds of vendor partners to do so. If you are like most enterprises, your marketing cloud is sub-optimally controlled. A poorly controlled cloud can cause you to send customers to competitors, dilute your customer data value, open security breaches, and slow down your site. Good cloud management ensures that you keep and grow your customer base, secure data, and improve site performance.
In this research series, we will be defining the marketing cloud and providing benchmark data and best practices for marketing cloud management. This is part one of the three part series.

Any PM or technical leader who’s led the charge of building a digital product knows that product engineering is one of the most expensive elements of business. "Impact of front-end architecture on development cost", Viktor TurskyiFwdays
I have heard many times that architecture is not important for the front-end. Also, many times I have seen how developers implement features on the front-end just following the standard rules for a framework and think that this is enough to successfully launch the project, and then the project fails. How to prevent this and what approach to choose? I have launched dozens of complex projects and during the talk we will analyze which approaches have worked for me and which have not.

Search and Society: Reimagining Information Access for Radical FuturesBhaskar Mitra
The field of Information retrieval (IR) is currently undergoing a transformative shift, at least partly due to the emerging applications of generative AI to information access. In this talk, we will deliberate on the sociotechnical implications of generative AI for information access. We will argue that there is both a critical necessity and an exciting opportunity for the IR community to re-center our research agendas on societal needs while dismantling the artificial separation between the work on fairness, accountability, transparency, and ethics in IR and the rest of IR research. Instead of adopting a reactionary strategy of trying to mitigate potential social harms from emerging technologies, the community should aim to proactively set the research agenda for the kinds of systems we should build inspired by diverse explicitly stated sociotechnical imaginaries. The sociotechnical imaginaries that underpin the design and development of information access technologies needs to be explicitly articulated, and we need to develop theories of change in context of these diverse perspectives. Our guiding future imaginaries must be informed by other academic fields, such as democratic theory and critical theory, and should be co-developed with social science scholars, legal scholars, civil rights and social justice activists, and artists, among others.
