1. In September 2015, Wallonia Export and Investment Agency (AWEX), Indian Subcontinent Welcome Office and its
renowned partners (FITT, Science and Technology Park of Pune, ISBA, EMPI, TiE Brussels) will be running a week-long series
of business activities called WalloniaTech-India. The challenge is part of the AWEX Initiative, an end-to-end soft landing
program that combines training, services, access to Belgian, European investors and business opportunities.
Focusing on high growth Indian innovative companies, we will be welcoming a delegation to Belgium, Wallonia, where
delegates will meet key contractors, financiers, government officials and consultants. Indian companies will have the
opportunity to showcase their expertise to Belgian businesses and the local technology clusters.

Call for applications (deadline 31st March 2015):
Participants are invited to submit their ideas and proposals using the present application form and by returning it to the
partners* and the organizers* in India by Tuesday 31st
March 2015.
First Screening (deadline 15 April 2015):
A jury appointed by Awex will evaluate all the applications received to select the most appropriate technology
companies to go forward in the program. At the end of this initial phase the best companies, as selected by an expert
panel, will be admitted to the next stage of the program.
Second Screening in India (15 June 2015):
Selected companies will have 10 minutes to pitch their project to an audience of investors, corporations and top players
of the innovation ecosystem who will provide structured feedback and select the finalists that will move to the next
level.
Remote Coaching: (July – August 2015)
Each start-up/company will have a chance to schedule one-to-one skype or private sessions with our coaches, mentors
to strengthen its business plan and improve investor communication.
Program in Belgium, Wallonia – subject to change (September 2015)
The selected companies will be invited to participate in a week long program in the Wallonia region of Belgium. The
program will include amongst other things:
 One day of visits to University R&D centers, science parks, business incubators and accelerators.
 One day for Doing Business in Belgium program : meeting with VC’s, Angel investors, institutional
Investors, technical experts, technology providers, consulting firms, business incubators, research
organizations, scientists, academics..
 One day B2B meetings and one day debriefing sessions

3. Participation to the challenge is free of charge and the local organization is being covered by the organizers. Travel and
accommodation expenses are not included, and must be covered by participants. A few weeks before activities start,
teams will be asked for a commitment to go through with the program, and cancellation penalties will apply after that
point.
