God is described as being the rock, salvation, defense, strength, refuge and source of glory for humanity. People are encouraged to only wait upon and trust in God at all times, pouring out their hearts to him, as he alone provides refuge.

1. Wait only upon God;

2. He only is my rock And my salvation:

3. He is my defence; I shall not be moved.

4. In God is my salvation and my glory:

5. the rock of my strength,

6. And my refuge, is in God.

7. Trust in him at all times; Ye people,

8. Pour out your heart before him:

9. God is a refuge for us.
