Abstract:
The measurement platform I designed is used for the tests of VTOL (Vertical Take
Off and Landing) aircraft. This platform can provide the test results of lift force,
horizontal force, yawing moment, rolling moment and pitching moment which are the
most important parameters of an aircraft. Using this platform, the experimental and
prototype aircraft doesn’t need to fly in the air, so the risks of crash and permanent
damage can be avoided. In addition, the test results that the platform provides can help
users adjust the VTOL aircraft to a better condition, so as to accelerate the designing
speed.
This platform has several degrees of freedom, so that we can have more accurate
data. We use electrometric method of mechanics of materials to collect raw data. Such
data is analyzed by software based on Labview. In this way, the result of the experiment
can provide feedback in real time.
As the widespread of VTOLaircrafts using in many fields of our society, the world
is looking forward to more efficient and useful aircrafts of this kind. So we believe the
platform we designed is practical and has bright prospects.
