Volleyball is a sport that was created in 1895 by William Morgan and has since grown significantly worldwide. It involves 6 players per team in specific positions who can hit the ball three times over the net before it must be returned. The objective is to score points by grounding the ball on the opponent's side of the court or causing the opponent to commit a violation such as carrying or touching the net. The rules also specify equipment requirements, court dimensions, and safety guidelines for playing volleyball.

3. HISTORY OF VOLLEYBALL
 In 1895, a German man named, William Morgan decided he
would rework the rules of a slow paced game called
“Faustball”.
 At the end of World War 2, The International Volleyball
Federation (FIVB) was formed.
 The FIVB is now the organizer of the international
championship to this day.
 Volleyball was accepted into the Olympics in 1964 at the
Tokyo Olympic Games.
 The FIVB estimates that on this day there are over 500
million active athletes participating in the sport worldwide.
