Pangkat in Indonesian means rank or status that is determined by multiplying a cardinal number, called the base, by itself a certain number of times, called the exponent. The rank or status of a person in an organization is determined by raising a base number that represents their level to an exponent that is appointed or stipulated within that organizational structure.
