History of Aluminum Composite Panels
• The Aluminum Composite Panels (ACP) was
introduced as a joint-invention between
companies Alusingen and BASF in 1969.
• In mid-1980s he architectural industry discovered
the properties of ACP as a building material and
started its extensive use.
• The widespread use of ACP in commercial and
residential buildings began in 1990s. It was
realized that it could reduce costs and enhance
architectural performance.

has a core made of Mineral content
comprising of Magnesium Hydroxide and
Aluminum Tri hydroxide mixed along with
virgin core in different ratios as per the
Fire classification of ACP required.

Testing :A sample is sent by the manufacturer
for testing .It could be of the best quality to
clear the test.
Certification : A random number of samples
are collected by testing agency itself from the
plant. The testing agency conducts certification
audits – Factory Production Control (FPC) at
plant to ensure manufacturer’s capability for
producing quality products as prescribed by
the standard.

can either contain a fire, retain structural
integrity, or both.
