The VITEEE 2016 will be conducted tentatively during the 2nd and
3rd week of April, 2016. The Entrance Exam is a Computer Based
Objective Test of 2 hours and 30 minutes duration. It is an objective
test and has 4 parts namely Physics, Chemistry, Mathematic and
Biology. The Students have to choose between Mathematics and
Biology as the 3rd part of the examination.
VITEEE 2016 is conducted for admissions in the 15 Branches of
Engineering offered by the VIT University at its two campuses
namely at Vellore and Chennai. It is one of the important national
level engineering entrance exams of India. As VIT is among the Top
Private Engineering Colleges of India.
VITEEE 2016 Application Form:
The VITEEE 2016 Application Form will be available online
tentatively from the 1st week of December, 2015. The Application
Form will be available online on the official website of

2. VIT: www.vit.ac.in . The Application Form will also be available
Offline in some selected Post Offices.
It can also be obtained by sending a Demand Draft at VIT or
handing over the fee in cash personally at the VIT University.
Before filling the VITEEE Application Form the candidates must go
through the VITEEE Eligibility Criteria and the guidelines to fill the
Application Form.
The Steps to fill VITEEE 2016 Application Form are as follows:
Stage 1-Registration
 Provide all the relevant details carefully
 It is mandatory to provide valid email id and mobile number as the password will be sent to the
registered Mobile number and email id
 Candidates Name, Date of Birth and email id cannot be changed after filling
 Candidate Date of Birth should be on or after 01.07.1994
 Immediately after registration, a password will be sent to your mobile number and email
 Proceed to Step 2 with the received password
Stage 2-Confirmation of password
 Enter the email id and password received from VIT to proceed for filling the online application
Stage 3- Filling up of online application form
 Refer the Information Brochure carefully, before filling the online application form
 Provide all the relevant details carefully
 Field marked with an asterisk * are mandatory
 NRI/PIO/OCI candidates can also apply directly through Direct Admission to B.Tech. Programme
without appearing for VITEEE-2016. Kindly refer the website for details
 Foreign candidates are not eligible to apply for VITEEE-2015
 Change of Test City and the Slot once booked cannot be changed under any circumstances
 Press submit button after checking the details carefully
 An application number will be generated immediately after submission

Payment through Online Gateway
o For Payment through online Mode, be ready with Net Banking / Debit Card / Credit Bank details
o During the payment process, DO NOT press backspace or Refresh button in order to avoid double
charges/payment error
o On successful completion of transaction, kindly take the printout copy of the application for your
reference
o Do not send the hardcopy of the application form after uploading the Photograph and
Signature.
For Payment through Demand Draft Mode
 For Payment through Demand Draft Mode, get ready with DD for Rs.940/- (50 USD for NRI
candidates) drawn in favour of 'VIT University', payable at Vellore.
 In case, if you are not ready with the Demand Draft at the time of submission of application
form, you can 'logout' from the screen and you can resume from the same payment screen
through Step 2, by login with the email id and password
 It is mandatory to send the hardcopy of the application form along with the DD after
uploading the photograph and signature to the address of Director-UG Admissions, VIT
University, Vellore - 632014, Tamil Nadu.
 Write your name, application number and mobile number on the reverse side of the Demand

 Softcopy (scanned copy) of recently taken passport size colour photograph with 10 kb - 200

VITEEE 2016 Eligibility Criteria:
The VITEEE 2016 Eligibility Criteria are as follows:
Nationality:
 The applicant for admission should be a Resident / Non Resident Indian National.

4. Qualifying Examination:
Candidates appearing for the VITEEE-2016 should have either
completed or shall be appearing in 2016, in any one of the following
qualifying examinations:
 The final examination of the 10+2 system of Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the State
Board, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi), The Council for Indian School
Certificate Examination (ISCE, New Delhi).
 Intermediate or Two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University.
 High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate
Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
 General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London / Cambridge / Sri Lanka) at the Advanced
(A) Level.
Candidates who have studied in Regular, Full time and Formal Education alone are eligible to apply.
Eligibility Criteria in the Qualifying Examination:
Candidates appearing for the VITEEE in 2016 should have secured
an aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics / Biology
in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate).
The average marks obtained in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and
Mathematics or Biology (PCM / PCB) in +2 (or its equivalent) put
together should be 50% for the following categories:
 Candidates belonging to SC/ST category
 Candidates hailing from Jammu and Kashmir and the North Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh,
Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura.
 CERTIFICATE TO PROVE NATIVITY & COMMUNITY (refer Information brochure for the format)
should be produced at the time of counselling, failing which they will not be considered for
admission.
 Candidates who have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are eligible for all the 15 B.Tech.
Programmes.
 Candidates who have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology are eligible for B.Tech. Bio-Medical
Engineering and Biotechnology programmes. They are also eligible for B.Tech. Computer Science

5. and Engineering (Spec. in Bioinformatics) but after joining, registering Mathematics as bridge course
is mandatory.
Age Limit:
 Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1st
July 1994 are eligible to apply for VITEEE-2015.
The date of birth as recorded in the High School / SSC / X Certificate will be considered authentic.
Candidates should produce this certificate in original as a proof of their age at the time of
counselling, failing which they will be disqualified.
VITEEE 2016 Exam Pattern:
The VITEEE 2016 will be a Computer Based Test of 2 hours and 30
minutes duration. The Exam has three parts namely Physics,
Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology. Candidates attempting
Physics, Chemistry & Biology are eligible for B.Tech Bio-Medical
Engineering, Biotechnology and Computer Science and Engineering
(Specialization in Bioinformatics) programmes only. While
Candidates attempting Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics are
eligible for all 15 Programmes offered.
The Selection of pattern (Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics or
Biology) has to be done during the time of slot booking- March,
2016.
There are a total of 120 questions with all three parts carrying 40
questions each. Each question carries one mark each. There is no
negative marking in VITEEE.

VITEEE 2016 Syllabus:
There are 3 parts in VITEEE- Physics, Chemistry and
Mathematics/Biology. The Students have to select Mathematics or
Biology as the third part depending upon which Branch they want to
apply for.

8. VITEEE 2016 Result:
The VITEEE 2016 Result will be available tentatively in the 2nd week
of April, 2016. The VITEEE Result 2016 will be available online
at www.vit.ac.in and will show the candidate’s All India Rank or AIR.
VITEEE 2016 Counselling Procedure:
The VITEEE 2016 Counselling Procedure will be conducted
tentatively during the 2nd week of May, 2016. The Counselling
Procedure will be conducted offline at the VIT Vellore Campus. The
Students will be called for counselling in the order of their All India
Rank.
The Counselling Procedure will be conducted for admissions in the
15 branches of Engineering offered at the Vellore and Chennai
Campus of VIT University.
