- Approved by the independent International Association of Voice Stress Analysts (www.iavsa.com) and currently in use by hundreds of law enforcement agencies across the United States, VIPRE, an acronym for Vagosympathetic Instrument Processors for Reactive Stress Examinations, is a patent pending , state of the art voice stress analysis system.
- VIPRE, is designed to graph & display levels of stress as generated by the body’s sympathetic nervous system and transmitted via the vagus nerve to the larynx (commonly called the voice box)
- VIPRE testing procedures comply with established VSA protocols developed and tested over the last forty years and stringently adhered to by the voice stress profession
- VIPRE also employs a Virtual Autonomic Scoring Index System, commonly referred to as VASIS. VASIS color codes the examinee’s graphed responses. The pattern will remain black if there is no stress detected, and the pattern will be red if there is stress detected in the graphed response.
- The VASIS feature is not meant to replace careful examiner analysis of the test results, but is intended to help remove errant examiner subjectivity and interpretation during chart evaluation.
