10. National Convention Center is one of the
biggest and most Vietnamese large-scale
comprehensive convention center that
integrates convention, exhibition,
performance, banquet and mas-media into a
whole.
National Convention Center possesses a
convention venue of more than 60,000 square
meters, comprising of a 3800-seat Great
Conference Hall, two presidential meeting
rooms, 72 small conference halls and meeting
rooms, parking areas, heliport and square, built
to serve a wide variety of purposes with the
capacity from 10 up to 3800 people. The halls
are equipped with international-advanced
simultaneous interpretation system, first-rate
acoustic apparatus, a live TV relay system,
inside and outside communication system,
video conference system and other internally
advanced facilities and equipments to meet
the needs of conferences of all scales and
types.
The completed National Convention Center is
not only a place for large-scale political and
cultural activities, but also a landmark building
of construction industry in Vietnam.
We acted as one of the main Contractors
during the construction stage of this fast

PetrovietnamTrading Center is one of the most
modern high-rise office buildings in Hanoi,
using state-of-the-art technologies and new
material in construction. Setting up joint
venture with REE, Vinaconex-REE is a General
Contractor to provide construction, supply and
installation of equipment, transferal, commis-
sioning, training, instructions for equipment
use for this 19-floor office building.

24. Bai Chay bridge is a new wonder for World
Heritage Site Ha Long Bay. It has total length
903m, clearance space is 50 metres high and
130 metres wide, allowing 50,000 ton ships to
pass under it easily. The main span of this
single-plane cable-stayed structure is 435 m, a
new world record for a single span of a bridge
of this type.
Subleted by Shimizu-Sumitomo Mitsui JO,
VINACONEX E&C undertook substructure
works at Hon Gai site, approach roads and part
of superstructure works for this landmark
bridge project.
The substructure work involved in the
construction of shin-so pile and pneumatic
caisson foundation structures, pile caps, pier
columns, etc…. This construction technology
and work nature required the enforcement of
highest level of working safety standards, the
mobilization of well-trained and high-skilled
workers with technical expertise. And VINAC-
ONEX E&C proved to be professional in this
field.

The New National Highway no. 3 is a critical
highway among road network connecting
Hanoi to Thai Nguyen. This project is a part of a
strategy to improve Vietnam’s transportation
system, aims at boosting economic exchanges
between Hanoi and the northern mountainous
areas surrounding Thai Nguyen.
We were awarded Package 2, Construction of
Section from Soc Son to Thai Nguyen in
November 2009 under the capacity of a joint
operation with other reliable partners. Main
structures encompass 34.4km of four-lane
expressway, 03 interchanges and intersections,
12 bridges, a great number of box and pipe
culverts, relocation of irrigation canals, AC
pavement and other general items. The
Package is funded by JBIC for nearly 1524
billion VNdong and will be implemented in late
2009. The progress is scheduled for 42 months
since commencement date.

Ministry of Transport is the Employer of Nhat
Tan bridge and approaches construction
project. It locates on the Ring road II of Hanoi
city with total length of 8.95km. This is a
continuous stayed cable bridge with 5 Tower
Bridge. The length of main bridge is 3,755m.
The project is financed by ODA fund, under
STEP conditions of Japan Government.
Vinaconex E&C have taken part in the
construction of 02 packages amongst 03
packages of project.
Vinaconex E&C have involved in the construc-
tion of main bridge and approach road at the
North, 3080m long and 32m wide, from
Abutment A2 to Pier P11. The key work scope
varies from casting and launching of super T
girder, casting for deck slab, casting surface of
bridge, cast-in-place box girders, cantilever

36. The Hanoi Museum is an exceptional
architecture - bringing together the old and
the new on one single site. It has four storeys
on the surface and two underground with total
area of 53,963 square meters and is 30.7 meters
high. The design and build form of the contract
were firstly adopted among projects in
Vietnam. Hanoi Museum has the form of a
counter pyramid with a hard structure leans
upon 04 cores that bear almost of loading
capacity, all floors are hung up against the roof
structure. This venue is harmonious with
surrounding landscape and buildings, showing
as a museum with the youngest and most
innovative soul.
Construction began in May 2008 on site at
Pham Hung street. VINACONEX E&C acted as
the project management consultant during
the construction and tender of this landmark
project, including the selection and
procurement of required equipment and the
commissioning of facilities. We are also
responsible for the majority of statutory
compliance checking during construction
stage. By providing our own unique solutions,
we continue to provide the highest levels of
quality and safety through workflow
management and the foreseeable successful of

well functioning residential area of high quality
with all the necessary services for the
low-income workers.
The scope of the project was turnkey construc-
tion of 17 high-rise apartment buildings,
encompasses low-income house and dormi-
tory with total floor area of 135,550 sqm for
12,000 people on land area of 9 hectares.
The venue also involved in construction of
infrastructure works of water supply system,
water drainage system, lighting system, roads
pavements and landscaping.
The overall construction works covered under
separate contracts, commenced on February
2007 and scheduled to complete on 2011.

Beginning from a Consultancy Department of
Vietnam Construction and Import-Export
Joint-Stock Corporation (VINACONEX), The
Department of Bidding and Project Manage-
ment served as a consultant of the Corpora-
tion, support in management works of
construction investment projects of all sizes.
To further develop the efficiency of this mode,
the Corporation expanded the Department
into two Centers, specializing in bidding works
and management of great projects under-
taken by VINACONEX, as well as providing
advices and technical supports for VINACONEX
affiliates in their construction and procure-
