The most important medium term challenge in the region is how to manage the growth of cities without compromising the environment, the economy, its governance and quality of life of its citizens. Urban transformation cannot be improvised and sustainable growth requires planning to face the future. An in order to be sustainable planning requires assuming a regional and metropolitan strategy. Planning should be inclusive, allowing all members of society to share their vision of the future of the city. This vision should at least aim at reducing vulnerability and should be based on democratic principles and equity; should promote the protection of undeveloped land; the preservation of cultural heritage; and strengthening the economy. Improve the quality of life for residents, maintaining and strengthen the representativeness, effectiveness, transparency and accountability of authorities and city government is indispensable.

Understanding Inductive Bias in Machine LearningSUTEJAS
This presentation explores the concept of inductive bias in machine learning. It explains how algorithms come with built-in assumptions and preferences that guide the learning process. You'll learn about the different types of inductive bias and how they can impact the performance and generalizability of machine learning models.
The presentation also covers the positive and negative aspects of inductive bias, along with strategies for mitigating potential drawbacks. We'll explore examples of how bias manifests in algorithms like neural networks and decision trees.
By understanding inductive bias, you can gain valuable insights into how machine learning models work and make informed decisions when building and deploying them.
Online aptitude test management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
The purpose of on-line aptitude test system is to take online test in an efficient manner and no time wasting for checking the paper. The main objective of on-line aptitude test system is to efficiently evaluate the candidate thoroughly through a fully automated system that not only saves lot of time but also gives fast results. For students they give papers according to their convenience and time and there is no need of using extra thing like paper, pen etc. This can be used in educational institutions as well as in corporate world. Can be used anywhere any time as it is a web based application (user Location doesn’t matter). No restriction that examiner has to be present when the candidate takes the test.
Every time when lecturers/professors need to conduct examinations they have to sit down think about the questions and then create a whole new set of questions for each and every exam. In some cases the professor may want to give an open book online exam that is the student can take the exam any time anywhere, but the student might have to answer the questions in a limited time period. The professor may want to change the sequence of questions for every student. The problem that a student has is whenever a date for the exam is declared the student has to take it and there is no way he can take it at some other time. This project will create an interface for the examiner to create and store questions in a repository. It will also create an interface for the student to take examinations at his convenience and the questions and/or exams may be timed. Thereby creating an application which can be used by examiners and examinee’s simultaneously.
Examination System is very useful for Teachers/Professors. As in the teaching profession, you are responsible for writing question papers. In the conventional method, you write the question paper on paper, keep question papers separate from answers and all this information you have to keep in a locker to avoid unauthorized access. Using the Examination System you can create a question paper and everything will be written to a single exam file in encrypted format. You can set the General and Administrator password to avoid unauthorized access to your question paper. Every time you start the examination, the program shuffles all the questions and selects them randomly from the database, which reduces the chances of memorizing the questions.
Water billing management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
Our project entitled “Water Billing Management System” aims is to generate Water bill with all the charges and penalty. Manual system that is employed is extremely laborious and quite inadequate. It only makes the process more difficult and hard.
The aim of our project is to develop a system that is meant to partially computerize the work performed in the Water Board like generating monthly Water bill, record of consuming unit of water, store record of the customer and previous unpaid record.
We used HTML/PHP as front end and MYSQL as back end for developing our project. HTML is primarily a visual design environment. We can create a android application by designing the form and that make up the user interface. Adding android application code to the form and the objects such as buttons and text boxes on them and adding any required support code in additional modular.

HEAP SORT ILLUSTRATED WITH HEAPIFY, BUILD HEAP FOR DYNAMIC ARRAYS.
Heap sort is a comparison-based sorting technique based on Binary Heap data structure. It is similar to the selection sort where we first find the minimum element and place the minimum element at the beginning. Repeat the same process for the remaining elements.
Hierarchical Digital Twin of a Naval Power SystemKerry Sado
A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.

5. INNOVATING TO MEET THE CHALLENGES OF THE FUTURE
”IN A CHANGING WORLD,
WE MUST IDENTIFY AND SEIZE
THE OPPORTUNITIES THAT ARISE””
VINCI Construction designs and builds
structures and infrastructure that address
the increasingly serious climate, population
and urban challenges facing today’s world
and meet local and regional needs. At the
same time, the construction industry is facing
major changes as new participants with
a disruptive vision emerge and compel
the market to adapt. In addition, the advent
of new technologies such as 3D printing,
the digital transformation and artificial
intelligence are driving a revolution in the
sector.
These changes hold out major opportunities
for VINCI Construction, provided they
are anticipated, thoroughly examined and
harnessed.
INNOVATIONS
THAT MAKE SENSE
VINCI Construction addresses growing customer
requirements by focusing its strategy and its range
of solutions and services on innovation. To build
structures and infrastructure that are both useful
and sustainable, VINCI Construction emphasises
R&D, innovation and engineering in its resources
and commitments. The group’s innovation policy
combines smart solutions and added value
in three areas.
•PARTICIPATORY INNOVATION
Participatory innovation builds on collaborative
momentum to encourage the creative potential
of the company’s employees. In practice,
this involves capitalising on initiatives taken
in the field by disseminating them throughout
the company. The VINCI Innovation Awards
Competition perfectly illustrates this approach.
•R&D
R&D enables VINCI Construction to expand
its expertise and to maintain its edge
in the marketplace. The company’s portfolio
of 3,172 patents demonstrates the importance
of the R&D policy in boosting its competiveness.
•OPEN INNOVATION
At VINCI Construction, openness is a core value.
Putting it into practice, the company has forged
a wide variety of partnerships with industries,
universities and startups to generate new ideas
and new business models .
Making the most of
urban potential
•THE CITY BELOW THE CITY
The start of work on the Grand Paris programme
is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for VINCI
Construction to apply its urban planning and
development expertise. The company will combine
its forward-looking vision and outstanding skills
to make the most of its geotechnical, special
foundations and underground works expertise in
a restricted, densely populated area. The city below
the city offers a way to utilise underground space
and to take a new sustainable approach
to city design.
•THE CITY ABOVE THE CITY
Due to land scarcity and the move towards greater
density, urban development remains highly
complex. New challenges and goals – the need to
improve liveability and transport systems, meet
ecological goals and (re)design the use of space in
all its dimensions – are emerging as well. Making
use of the space above the city, VINCI Construction
uses new construction methods and materials to
deliver innovative solutions that enhance mobility,
enable buildings to be repurposed and build
upwards.
•THE CITY WITHIN THE CITY
Lastly, a new issue has arisen with the challenge
of optimising urban spaces by re-using,
refurbishing, transforming or renewing public
surface or semi-surface areas lying fallow or vacant.
VINCI Construction devises ways to re-think these
volumes and use these spaces to improve the living
environment and mobility. These changes will give
the city of the future a new face.
Meeting environmental
challenges
•ENERGY EFFICIENCY
To address global warming, buildings can be
designed as energy hubs. VINCI Construction
has joined forces with Sunpartner Technologies
to become a specialist in photovoltaic facades
and positive energy buildings. This innovation
can be combined with GreenFloor, an innovative
combined HVAC (Heating, ventilation and air
conditionning) system jointly developed by
VINCI Energies and VINCI Construction that
improves comfort for end users while consuming
less energy.
•BIODIVERSITY
Cities set great store by green spaces and nature.
VINCI Construction worked with AgroParisTech
to develop the Biodi(V)strict diagnostic tool,
which can be used from the project design stage
onwards to address long-term environmental
and sustainability issues in urban and suburban
settings. The Condorcet Campus under
construction in Aubervilliers will be a prime
example of integrated urban construction with
intelligent inclusion of biodiversity.
Leveraging the digital
revolution
•BIM
Construction projects have taken on a new
dimension with the widespread use of BIM
(Building Information Modeling).
VINCI Construction has transformed the digital
tool into a system that boosts productivity to serve
the customer. BIM brings positive change to the
entire project life cycle by ensuring better early
project preparation, resource savings, improved
coordination among project participants and
optimum quality control.
•3D PRINTING
The disruptive 3D printing technology, which
is used to make complex shapes that cannot
be achieved with conventional techniques,
opens up revolutionary design-build opportunities.
VINCI Construction has signed a partnership
agreement with XtreeE, a world leader in 3D
concrete printing, to make dreams into reality.
JÉRÔME STUBLER,
CHAIRMAN, VINCI CONSTRUCTION
DIGITAL
e BIM (Building Information Modeling), which enables
project participants to share information, optimises structure
design, construction and operation. The Arturo Merino
Benítez Airport extension project in Santiago de Chile is
a case in point.
c 3D printing is used to obtain complex, original concrete
shapes such as this 4-metre post supporting the covered
courtyard of a middle school in Aix en Provence, France.
ENVIRONMENTAL
c The Biodi(V)strict®
system can be easily and
rapidly applied to provide
a design team with the
information required to
build biodiversity into a
project. The Condorcet
campus in Aubervilliers
is a case in point.
f The new autonomous,
smart and connected
Horizon window boosts
energy efficiency.
