Directions: As you closely watch the music video, answer the following questions with as
much detail as possible.
1. What are the men/women doing? (Dancing, sitting, swimming, etc.) Women are dancing and
grinding on the male dancers; women are touching themselves while dancing. The men are
dancing as well; mostly behind the women while they grind on them. One guy was DJ’ing
2. How are the men/women dressed? How much skin is revealed? The women are dressed with
a lot of skin showing: belly shirts, leotards, bra as a top. The men are dressed normally; jeans and
t shirts/ button- up shirts. One guy had his shirt open.
3. Are there more, fewer, or the same number of men as women? There were men than women
in the video
4. Describe the body language of the men/women: are they sitting, standing, gyrating,
mugging, etc.? Most of the men were standing up or sitting down with a woman in front of
them, or a woman sitting on their lap. One guy was laying down while resting his head on a
woman’s lap. The women were either standing up dancing on a guy, or sitting down dancing on
a guy’s lap.
5. Do the men/women have power? How do you know? It looked like the men had the power
because the women seemed to be catering to them through sexual dancing ie: grinding on the
men’s pelvic region, or sitting on their lap dancing for them.
6. What³s the message of the song? The message of the song is to give into your sexual desires
7. What type of music is the song? Pop Music

Artist: Kendrick Lamar
Directions: As you closely watch the music video, answer the following questions with as
much detail as possible.
1. What races do you see represented? White, African American
2. Are there any dark skinned women shown? How many? There were some but not many.
3. What is the race of the person at the focus of the video? African American.
4. What are the black/Latino/Asian/white/Native American/Pacific Islander people doing?
They are dancing, driving, and rapping.
5. What³s the message of the song? That everything will be good for the African American
lives. Kendrick Lamar talks about some of the trials the black man has to go through but stays
positive, reasoning of naming it “Alright”.
6. What type of music is the song? Rap

Artist: Khia
Directions: As you closely watch the music video, answer the following questions with as
much detail as possible.
1. Describe any sexually explicit body language: Body popping, ass shaking, grinding.
2. Who is more sexualized • men or women? Both? Women are more sexualized in this video.
3. Are there sexually explicit lyrics or messages? The whole song is sexually explicit. The
lyrics are telling females to “pop their pussy” like this or to “lick my neck, my back, my pussy
and my crack.” The music video is also explicit with scantily clad women everywhere.
4. How are subjects of the music video dressed? All the subjects in the video are clothed,
although there are scenes with bathing suits or very little clothing.
5. Describe the relationships between the men and women: Are they long or short term?
Casual or serious?
6. What³s the message of the song? The relationship between men and women in this video are
that the men are servicing the women. The relationships are casual/sexual in nature.
7. What type of music is the song? Rap

Artist: Fat Joe ft. Lil Wayne
Directions: As you closely watch the music video, answer the following questions with as
much detail as possible.
1. Describe the products that are highlighted in the video: (cars, jewelry, clothes, etc.) sports
cars, baggy clothes, flashy/gold jewelry, stacks of money are all highlighted in this video. All
the guys are dressed in baggy clothes, flat bill hats and with tons of big rings and necklaces.
Some even with grills.
2. Are any brand names shown? The only brand name I saw in this video was a Ferrari sports
car.
3. How is wealth defined in the video? In this video wealth is defined as lots of money, flashy
jewelry, sports cars and girls.
4. Are products mentioned in the song lyrics? Money and jewlery
5. What³s the message of the song? The message is basically that they’re rich and that they
make it rain on the hoes. The video shows lots of money, scantily clad women, sports cars, and
flashy jewelry. They talk about how they make it rain on the hoes because they are good
looking.
6. What type of music is the song? Rap.

Artist: Eminem
Directions: As you closely watch the music video, answer the following questions with as
much detail as possible.
1. Describe any violent lyrics in the song: “Hey Slim, that’s my girlfriend screaming in the
trunk, But I didn’t slit her throat, I just tied her up, see I ain’t like you.”
2. Describe any violent body language: In the video when he’s writing the letter to Eminem you
can tell the anger by his facial expression. When he is driving you can tell by his voice.
3. Describe any violent actions or weapons that are shown: “Stan” puts his wife in the trunk of
his car and ties her up, you can’t see it happen but he says it.
4. Describe any self-mutilation or violence: “Stan” drives his car into the lake.
5. What³s the message of the song? I do not think there is really a message.
6. What type of music is the song? Rap.
