Skilled at writing and editing, as well as tutoring and working with ESL people. Has excellent
customer service experience and is looking for a job where interaction with others is necessary
and ideally do some writing. Clerical work, writing, tutoring, editing, and customer service are
areas of expertise and a job that allows some or all of these skills would be ideal.
Experience
• Douglass Writing Center: writing and reading comprehension tutor from October 2013 to
April 2015. Learned how to work personally with students by identifying and working on
unique strengths and weaknesses in their writing, and how to become independent writers
and editors for their papers.
• Dialogues@RU: intern; the Selection Committee this year and served as a technical and
substantive editor, and had a position as an Associate Editor the previous year.
• Completed a 48 page honors thesis on intersectional feminism on late 20th
and early 21st
century literature.
• The Imaginate: Assisted in the founding of a literary magazine at Rutgers University,
editor for the first year, and editor-in-chief for the second year. Learned editing skills
such as proofreading, formatting, and how to select content that would be interesting for
readers. Also learned how to use Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, as well basic web
design, leadership, and editing skills.
• The Daily Targum and The Burlington County Times: journalist. Learned how to write in
the style appropriate for a newspaper article, as well as how to conduct an interview.
• Friendly’s: waitress for three years. Learned time management; how to interact with
people on a case-by-case basis, and teamwork skills.
Education
• Graduated Burlington Township High School, Class of 2011
• Graduated Rutgers University with departmental honors, GPA 3.471, majored in English
and minored in Psychology.
Skills/Qualifications
• Excellent substantive and technical editing skills.
• Experience with management positions
• Excellent with working with others
• Three and a half years of editing/publishing experience
• Excellent communication skills with customers and coworkers.
• Capable of finding errors and solving problems, particularly in writing, both
independently and in group settings.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Outlook, and Excel, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe
InDesign, and Adobe Illustrator as well as Google Docs
• Knowledge of basic math and science, including neuroscience
