Additional parts may be required if engine has:
• Engine mounted oil filter (Microspin) is present, then replace
feed tubes
• OEM LB-mounted air/gas starter, then replace feed tubes
• Remote mounted air cleaners, then add support brackets
• Pre-1997 ship date, add mag drive housing (houses sensor)
• M12 tapped knock sensor holes, then lobular stud (M12 to M8)
& nut are required
• Superseded rear crankshaft seal, 208156 needs replacement
then parts required to upgrade to new seal

ESM2 power supply requirements and alternator
Batteries are the preferred method of
supplying the ESM2 system with clean,
stable power.
Advantages of using battery
• Continued engine operation should
there be a disruption in the source of
electric power.
• Filtering the ripple output of the
alternator.
Disadvantages of DC power supply
• If AC power is lost, the engine shuts
down immediately.
• No noise filtering -> more expensive
power supply is needed.

ESM2 POWER SUPPLY REQUIREMENTS
• 18 – 32 VDC with a nominal voltage of 24
VDC.
• Peak-to-peak voltage ripple < 2 volts.
• DTC2186 alarm is triggered at 21 VDC.
• It is recommended that each engine have its
own power supply.
