This document summarizes a conceptual design for an app called "Keeping Vegetables In Mind" aimed at influencing Stanford University students to eat more vegetables. The app would send students pictures and captions of vegetables before meals via text and have students self-report their daily vegetable intake via email surveys, allowing them to see how their intake compares to peers. The goal is to get students thinking about vegetables more often to help form a habit of eating more of them.

4. Storyboard: Alexandra and Veggies Stanford University, Spring 2010 CS377v - Creating Health Habits habits.stanford.edu As Alexandra thinks about what she'd like to eat for her next meal she thinks about vegetables Later that evening, Alexandra receives an email asking her to report on how many vegetables she ate that day and replies to it. Alexandra realizes that she only eats one vegetable a day and wants to start eating more but doesn't know where to start. She owns a smart phone and signs up for the "Keeping Vegetables In Mind" study. Once or more a day, right when she's starting to feel hungry, Alexandra receives a MMS message on her phone. Alexandra sees a picture of a vegetable and a funny/interesting caption. Also in the email, Alexandra sees how many vegetables her friends have been eating and compares her numbers to theirs.
